| This will be hard for some, but putting aside club loyalties, etc., etc., and starting with a clean slate, if you had the chance to put a Rugby League competiton togther in GB where would you want the teams (say 16)?
FWIW my options would be
Newcastle
Hull
Leeds
Manchester
Liverpool
Birmingham
London (x2)
Sheffield
Bristol
Nottingham
Cardiff
Belfast
Southampton
Dublin
Edinburgh
Mostly for ease of access, population of "area", diversity of location and potential income.
It would be interesting to see what others think or not.

| It's taken well over 20 years to develop London into a team that regularly get 2500 at home. We happy to waste another 20 years?

| I'd have a small hub of clubs centred in and around the M4 motorway corridor and then I'd attempt to entice thick Northerners to watch the game despite their passion for anything but Rugby League.

| I'd put teams where they have a chance of getting 10k+ to games, ie the places that have played RL for 100 years and care about the game.

Three hell holes in the north of England would not constitute much a league.

| My opinion is keep it how it is. That is too much like football and we are different and want to be different. It's great to see teams like Cas, wakey, saints widnes etc... Instead of Liverpool, London, Manchester etc....
Keep it the same!!!

| Plus, you don't want to be competing against football for supporters, because for some reason the wendyball attracts a far bigger fanbase.

| If we were starting again. I would have amateur teams all over the country. But I would let the ones that are financially self sufficient work there way to the top.
My goal would to be have at least two leagues of 12 teams that are full time professional and that can move between each league without seriously jeopardizing any clubs.

Our P&R based, "meritocratic" football system has produced a premier league containing teams from only 5 out of your 15. Of the English cities you've chosen, Sheffield, Leeds, Bristol, Hull, Nottingham & Southampton don't have top class football. Somehow, they've ended up with 7/8 clubs in the northwest, including small town northern hell holes like blackpool, wigan & bolton and no teams from the South of England outside London.

Not fancy a Wigan or Saints team then. Or Warrington.
Scrap some of the best teams in Rugby and bring in footballing towns an cities! The worlds going mad

....of all the teams in the championship I would rate Widnes as the best club (currently). Leigh and Halifax would be the next 2 best placed teams IMO, but since Widnes had their wobble, they seem to be a very well run organisation. It's all down to O'Connor and his wedge, but he does seem to have a "plan" in place that will make the club self sufficient. They are the best supported club outside SL and thei academy seems to be producing some good youngsters.
Ideally, SL will grow to 16 teams, bin the magic weekend and have 28 rounds with a top 8 play-off system. It will be a shame if 1 club gets cast aside in July......especially if it is Wakefield. Better to grow the competition IMO

It's not going to work is it? Too many thick Northerners involved. Why did we split from the other code? As Charlton Heston said:

Wouldn't surprise me at all. For me the ideal structure would be;
two conferences of eight losely based around Yorkshire and Lancashire
Each team plays each team in their conference twice; home and away, and all teams in other conference once; four at home, four away, plus the Magic weekend derby match
Top four of each conference go into end of season play off, which is a straight forward knock out
Reduced amount of matches mean less strain on players and more room for more rep matches (e.g. three match series against All Stars)
There might be less home fixtures, but profits from Magic, GF and rep games can be shared out among teams to compensate
Conferences also place more emphasis on local matches and greater novelty on playing teams outside the conference
More teams means a larger talent pool for reps, more speccies for Magic and it means the RFL don't end up in a sticky situation if they want to kick someone out
Also sets a precedence for the future; the conferences can be expanded in size or more conferences added, this way the RFL has room for expansion clubs when they're ready, but also stay true to the core support in the heartlands by eventually letting the likes of Fax and Fev back in
