Is the Administrator thinning the Wakefield squad on the request of the new owner or without his consent whilst the deal is being ratified?

To some it will look like the RL community is asset stripping Wakefield, but I wonder if this is more the request of the new owner to allow them to reduce the salary overhead to a more manageable level?

I'm not even close to being on expert on these things, but might the selling of the players be more about getting transfer fees so as to pay creditors to come out of administration? Rather than reducing the wage bill, which could be done more easily at the end of the season? Only a thought.

On the other hand they might be trying to sell players and get transfer fees now if they think they'll be demoted through the licence system and the players leave for free?

Depressing is an understatement. I really feel for them as it appears they are experiencing death by a 1000 cuts.

It is no way to treat the fans. No matter what the fault of the owners or management is, the fans are innocent parties in all of this.

They should be told the truth and know exactly where they stand. Anything less is cruel and wrong IMHO.

Hulls youth development isnt the best in SL. But it is quite disappointing that having done so much good work they are going into this season with as many overseas players as last year.

People have long argued over the merits of having two Hull sides in SL. One of the big arguments made by the pro lobby was that it was a fertile heartland, a strong amateur game and it could easily be supported.

This year there is 17 overseas players playing for Hull. You could pretty much put out a team of overseas players from this 'heartland'. It seems two clubs in Hull in SL means two clubs struggling in Hull in SL.

Only your warped mind could criticised HKR for Hull FC signing an Aussie journeyman instead of promoting a junior , you have praised FC in the past , so come on get the venom stick out Hull FCA

It was in direct response to a HKA fans assertions at Hull.

Hull shouldnt be signing average journey men like Phelps or Obst when they already had 5 overseas players.

But they still have 30% fewer than Hull KR.

Good News is Wakefield have fewer.

Murphy is a good player, there'll be a few clubs interested.

and their competitive contribution to SL will be so much the better for it, NOT!

Of course it will , they'll blood a load of youngsters , get mullered and any that show promise will leave for nothing

What we do know is that putting out squads filled with overseas players and being competitive hasnt made Wakefield sustainable.

Maybe when people stop looking at being competitive this season as the only aim of their existence they can put the necessary effort into making sure they are competitive and sustainable for a long time.

Result for everyone, including Wakefield.

If they are to survive and come back stronger, it will be based on going back to the strength of the local game, not by shipping in players who were never good enough for the NRL, thats what got them here in the first place.

and putting out a weaker squad of young home grown talent that got whopped every week is a better business model for sustainability?

Apparantly Radio Humberside have announced that Hull FC are going to announce the signing of an up and coming British player today. Wouldn't be suprised if it's Murphy.

Gotta feel so sorry for the Wakefield fans in all this.
