Either way it's irrelevant as the standard is terrible. If they could make a stable Super League team with those stats it would be impressive.

Yes we have two from Wigan although Chris Hill came through our academy

Hill , Taylor, Hopkins, Govin did and then left, but hes back, Bibey, Meekin, Higson came form Leigh |Miners, not sure on Donlan he started at Leigh then left, Nicholson and Pownall all did. Thats pretty good eh.

You cant really claim players developed by the local amatuer club as players developed by yourself though!

However most have come through our academy and theres more playing currently in SL aka Mickey Higham

By my reckoning there are 11 Cas lads in our first team squad this season.

Dobson, Green, Mason, Lovegrove, Fisher, Galea, Newton, Webster, Vella, Clinton ALL came through our scholarship...no really!

Definitely makes for a positive future. It doesn't include 3 or 4 who are knocking on the door either and are likely to breakthrough in the next year or two.

not the squad,but the saints 17 in the grand final last year had 10 players who had progressed from the accademy.out of this years squad of 29,13 are former academy players with first team experience and 4 have yet to play first grade.

By my very quick reckoning The Rhinos have 13 Leeds born or Academy trained players in their 25.

In top 25 their is 8 would be classed as Widnes trained (Inc Paddy & Kav) what are Leigh's classed as? And 17 in the 36 man squad named.

But then you have say Dave Allen who came through at Wigan but is a Widnes lad. Not 100% on Gaz Haggs?

Workington Town's 2011 squad is made up of 24 Cumbrians and 1 Australian.

24 out of Wigan's 34 man squad are either from Wigan or came through the Academy.

22 Academy, + Gleeson & Deacon born there.
