with the new season fast approaching who do u think will be the stand out player(s)? I think finch will go well at wigan and im hoping luke patten will shine at my club.

The new Wigan signings will be very good for the club.


However the most stand out player of all will be arguably the best player anywhere in the world right now.... the one... the only...Paul Gallen of the mighty Cronulla Sutherland Sharks.

I'm hoping Eastmond if he stays fit, whether or not that happens will remain to be seen.

I think Joel Monaghan will be pretty much the centre of attention as he does a Cantona at the DW.

He may not be a stand out player but I'm looking forward to seeing how Kallum Watkins goes this year. He started his first team career with rave reviews from the Academy scene and felt the pressure a little I think

Funnily enough, a long layoff with a knee injury may have done him little harm - if he has recovered from the injury 100% then he will be back as a 19 year old and so definitely a bit bigger and stronger

I still think he is one of the best England outside back prospects and can see him developing into a regular England centre - we certainly need some class there

S Tompkins at the Pies disapointingly, unless coaches have got the measure of his playing style.

At Cas, young Adam Milner will hopefully have a good season and by the sounds of it Fozzard has turned Johnny Walker into a brick outhouse so can't wait to see him rip up the middle.

Hopefully Willie Isa can live up to the hype but he might take a good few months to fully settle in.

I predict that Leeds Rhinos will take Luthor Burrell from their Union partners, Leeds Carnegie, he'll replace Senior who will spend some time in the pack and some time being rested (picking his games). Burrell will do well enough to be considered for England by the end of the season.

he is only young...and being away from home at that age is not much fun unless you have someone close to you...

Could be another 'homesick' antipodean heading for home before you know it...

I think he was at the panthers with Youngquest and he knows a few of the samoans from the international squad who are playing at Leeds so hopefully he should be ok.

Certainly looks like he has the size etc but according to the bio I read, he is 23 years old and already had two seasons at Huddersfield RL

Why are you confident that he could make it in the Leeds and England side if he didn't break through at Hudds?

btw, I'm certainly not being negative, I would love this to happen but I haven't seen the guy play so very interested

Saw him against Stade Francais earlier in the season on Sky and he had an absolute blinder. Big unit, good pace and footwork. I'd be interested to see him have another crack at league now he's matured a bit.

I think at Huddersfield it's got to be Luke Robinson, had a great test series, and looks to be going well at the club.

I'm hoping Stuart Littler is going to make a big impact at Leigh this season.

I'm not surprised by the fact no one has named James 'Teddy in the corner' Graham as a potential stand out player.

He was one of the worst forwards in this years 4 nations

I wonder how much SL game time George Burgess will get this year - from the reports on the Academy tests, he made the Australian Schoolboys look like primary school kids

His brother made an impact at a similar age

If they are that similar clearly he will turn out to be as ineffective as his older brother in that case if he ever plays first grade NRL footy
