Considering you've listed teams that cannot apply it's a bit pointless. Even more so when you've not listed a team that CAN apply.

Widnes, Fax, Barrow, Batley are the only teams that can apply and it will also be in that order of preference IMO.

I think Halifax, having won a Championship and having a good enough ground for Super League, deserve the place.

What i do hope though is that they don't completely shut the door off in 2015. If there is a club strong enough to challenge a current SL incumbent (like Widnes will in 2012) then a club should be given a chance. I think the RFL will still offer this chance despite many Championship fans thinking that they're the anti-christ. So long as i experience days like today now and again i don't give a monkeys. Today reminded me why i love Rugby League.

IMO Widnes are the only club that could compete at SL level if given the green light. Maybe Toulouse could with some help, but they cannot apply as a Championship side.

You have to remember that there are effectively going to be two franchise competitions this time around.

As I understand it, the five point criteria for the 'automatic' license available for a Championship team will restrict the potential applicants to just two. Widnes and Halifax (IF Fax have achieved a £1m turnover). Anyone else wanting to apply will go up against the SL teams in the second competition.

Realistically, I think only Widnes from the Championship will even be considered - and they will be accepted. I also think one SL team will make way for them.

i think the RFL will always keep the door to SL open as long as championship clubs can improve at a level to challenge the SL clubs which arent performing
