Barrow have suffered our worst injury crissis im living memorary this season and both strike players Bully & Rooney both went off injuried today, but Matty James & liam Campbell returned after months out.

Last season league leading Try scorer has been out all season, Nicco played about 10 mins this season, several have been out for months at a time, but that's RL for you.

We have been very low in the last few weeks, but today we sounded superb, never gave Widnes a sniff and really turned on the champane RL we can produce when we are on fire.

Message for the Widnes fans, this is a happy post from a RL fan so dont spoil this thread please

Raiders deserved to win no doubt about that (being paid this week?) but Widnes had FAR more injuries then Barrow this year so why need to play that card? also we didn't cancel reserve games to compensate either!

Well done on a big win today - but, that was an absolute shocker of a performance from Widnes, one of the worst of a very bad season from us. Anyone in that league, perhaps bar Haven, would have snotted us today and 38-0 actually flattered us - a bit more composure near the line, esp in the first half, and you'd have had 60. You'll get a much stiffer test from Sheffield who might actually a) have a game plan and b) look interested. That actually should be a great game.

Still, nice bunch of people up there and decent fans who can hold a conversation with the oppostion fans.

I know it was meant to be a nice post but you could have changed the title thread. Every time we seem to get beat theres a brand new thread which has somethind to do with us not deserving a license.

On that basis, every time we win next year, i'll start a new thread saying why we deserve one, see how boring that gets

Returning forward Matt James hailed the efforts of a home side who ran out 38-0 winners with a magnificent performance from start to finish.

James, in his first game for more than four months, was one of six Barrow try-scorers in a win that sets up a home clash with Sheffield this week. A brace from Liam Campbell, plus scores from Ned Catic, Liam Harrison, James Coyle and Andy Ballard ensured a complete rout for caretaker coach Dave Clark and his men.

“It was a massive effort from the guys,” said James, who has been out since May with an ankle injury. “Since the last game (the 72-20 defeat by Featherstone) the boys have been training really, really hard and that has shown in the way it has paid off today.

“With the enthusiasm from the guys, it is just easy to come into a team like that, playing with such enthusiasm and desire for each other. We’ve still got a few games to go, but I am thrilled to bits with how it has gone today. We didn’t concede a point, everyone was just working for each other and everyone showed up tonight.”

Barrow had lost their three previous matches – to Dewsbury, Widnes and Featherstone – before yesterday, and James said: “The recent results, they can make or break a team.

“Widnes are no mugs and I don’t think they particularly played badly, we just played really well. It bodes well for the next few rounds.

“We’re not looking to end the season early whatsoever – we want to get through to the final.”

He added: “We have a tight group of players who have really bought into what Dave Clark has brought to the club since he has come back.

“It doesn’t take a genius to realise we have just stuck to what he has told us to do, and that has paid off.
“The players have been really determined to succeed.
“We have shown tonight there is a quality in the team to go anywhere and we don’t fear anybody in the league.”

I dont think there is any arrogance at all amongst Widnes fans regarding Super League. The RFL set a list of criteria of which we listened too and worked really hard to achieve ALL the criteria, one of which was to win a trophy. The obsession with all things Widnes is absurd. What you need is a good dose of the facts. Widnes have the best stadium in the league, are the best supported team in the league, have the best finances in the league and a youth system whereby our youngsters are beating Super League opposition week in week out. It is pointless throwing all your money into a team who beat Widnes 38-0 when everything else about the club is second rate. Its a shame you didnt go yesterday as you may have bumped into a couple of real rugby league fans who represent your club and who made our day enjoyable despite the spanking we got. You must not perceive fact as being arrogant. The only arrogance i have detected is the title of your thread.
