| Went to leigh today and wondered were all these super league fans are???
Just short of 8k bothered to turn up and a vast majority were from the national leagues
So were are all the pop corn munching super league fans?
Now don't give me the usual I can't get there theres no train link seeing as you could get off at atherton and catch the bus which is actual shorter a distance than if you travelled to huddersfield on the train and route marched to to the ground.
Now leigh get told they are too close to other super league clubs well judging by the attendance we must be at least 3 light years away as 14k wigan,11k warrington 8k saints fans couldnt travel the vast distance
So by judging this leigh should get a bonus point as we are light years from other clubs

| And made yourselves sound rather silly live on National TV, so much so that even Eddie pointed it out.

| Pretty good attendance that, I was expecting around 5000 fans. Yorkshire fans don,t travel well this side of the pennines.

| Don't really understand the point of the OP. In my immediate vicinity, it was pretty much a three way split between Leigh, Warrington and Wigan fans from what I could tell (with a sprinkling of St Helens) and visible club colours around the stadium told a similar story.
The comment about Yorkshire fans not travelling is valid, there were very few Yorkshire club shirts or telltale accents from my encounters. Credit to the few that made the trip over, but it either shows how few people really care about international RL, or how crucially important it is for RL grounds to be served by a nearby railway station..!

Railway station ??? it easier to travel to leigh than huddersfield infact,it easier to get to than most grounds simple fact the pop corn super league only wants to watch there own team crunch the welsh wanderers and other cannon fooder
If the england ru team was playing a nazi war criminal team 80k would turn up while the usual pop corn crunching super league fan would sit at home picking his booty and bemoan they get better exposure
The games fooked, middle of heartland and not full

Well its just that your side of the Pennines isn’t pretty. Over here we have the Yorkshire dales whilst all you probably have is abandoned sports fields.
You don’t do natural beauty well and we don’t travel well.
Lets just settle on that score

Genuine guess as i've never seen you post before but are you a wire fan? Because I thought there were a LOT more saints fans than wire fans today. Leigh and Wigan made up a large amount with a lot of saints fans too. Wire brought a respectable amount and everyone else was far far less represented.

| Int RL is not held in high regard by modern RL fans. It's no wonder the media treat it with similiar disdain.

Pennington Flash one of the best developed nature reserves was only a mile away from the ground. Yorkshire fans could have made a day of it going to the nature reserve and having one of the best bacon + egg s this side of the pennines at the reserve burger van.
The only large mass of yorkshire support these days come from the principality of Hull, how dare the Leeds fans put club before country yesterday.

| I found it funny how petty leigh fans where singing "stand up if you hate wigan" during a live international game only to be ridiculed on live tv about 5 mins after when tomkins scored his fourth and bill arthur was rightly giving the leigh fans some stick for it.
Jokes, the lot of them

| Seeing as the crowd was mostly made up of leigh fans I'll look forward to seeing a big turnout against batley. No. Maybe not.
The crowd was split mostly leigh/wigan, so you lose a bonus point for not being able to count.
It's ironic you talk about other local towns being light years away, you'd think so when you arrive in leigh. It's like strapping a flux capacitor to your and going back in time.
Decent crowd on considering it was a nothing game and held in a small town.

| It was a pointless game against a very weak French side and was being shown the same day as England's first World Cup game. What kind of crowd were you expecting?

| Why would anyone bother? The RFL sent out the message from the very top that says it's an utterly pointless game no need to bother going by arranging it to clash with the England World Cup game and also having a full round of RL fixtures going on that weekend, the London Skolars v York and Qunis RL v Leeds double header being a cracking example of gross mismanagement by the RFL as they were going on at the same time. I have no confidence in them and our game will wither into a fringe sport with the current RFL bigwigs in charge. Having it at a 10,000 capacity stadium with no Rail links was the icing on the cake. This game should have had some massive promotion and build up, there should have been a blank SL weekend and it should have been held at a bigger venue. The RFL are not fit for purpose they are killing RL.
