Was RL the second sport to follow soccer?
The first WC in Soccer was held in 1930.
Then our one arrived in 1954,don't know wether if there were any other sport that held a WC between 1930 to 1954.

Ice hockey world championship started in 1920 as a comp and 1930 outside the olympics but it's not a world cup as such more like the Davis cup which was started in 1900 and produces a "world championship nation"
