| Cant blame the lad for wanting to play in international tests in front of 80k plus people and also being internationally recognised as soon as he signs for a rugby team.

| I am sick of this happening, sure there will be youngsters to come in and take his place but the game would be better with all it's talent remaining.
It sickens me that union can't produce it's own players. All they can produce is fat s who don't even count as athletes and supplement it with a few players inticed purely by money.
Can't blame Falou for going, who wouldn't take the money? but the sooner the salary cap goes up in the NRL or something else to increase wages union can basically take it's pick.

Yeah, he'll be massive in Asia, the Americas, Africa and Europe.
Oh wait, no he won't.
Recognised by whom you idiot?
See you Izzy, don't let the door hit your clacker on the way out. Another winger gone, oh woe is me..

| Folau.
From rugby league mega star to nobody for the sake of $500,000.
Laughing at union. Again.
Such depth and capacity to produce players. If only we could compete with the likes of Wales...

| it says the offer was recent so who have the rebels missed out on?
im guessing they were going to offer slater $1 million but decided against it after the media pressured them
if they get gasnier as well on big bucks, how much are they spending on players?

| The funny thing is union people having a go - like guttertroll...
When they have a proper salary cap, rather than a handshake deal between a few people, without top ups left right and centre, then they can comment.
The likes of village idiot guttertroll seem to have missed this.

| I am confused - one month ago Dally was saing the days of union pinching NRL players was over?
Now this what is going on!!
Shame to loose such a tremendous athlete
Dally and co seem to think the NRL produces this quality of player every week - so I cannot see what the issue is?
Super league is full of high quality ex NRL players
On this topic but slightly an aside if the monies the likes of Wallace and Cronk were on is the norm for top NRL players these players cannot be coming to SL for the money - there will not be a player in SL on the kind of monies Cronk is on.

| the aru hasnt paid $1 million for a player for a long time.
they let tuqiri and sailor go early to save money
clearly they think to promote themselves in melbourne they need a RL player.
not a big loss as slater would be so i can live with it
hes not worth that in league. imo hes not worth $500,000 in league either
the broncos overpaid for him. they can get civinociva and hannant for that money

yeh in a few years when he is reaching the end of his career. Watching tuiqiri this season has been a joy and I am gutted we have missed him in his prime for all these years just because the game can't keep up with other codes salaries.

| It is called the salary cap.
Maybe you have heard of it.
It has nothing to do with matching salaries...

Ozzie players come to super league either if there not a top player in oz but can be in uk hence a pay rise( not so much nowadays with the poor exchange rate) or because there too busted up to handle the nrl, so instead of getting a one or two year deal they get a three or four in sl.

Nice attempt to revise the history.
What actually occurred was
6. Rugby league has never interfered with the free gangway of players transferring from one code to another. Rugby union interfered with it for over 100 years.
The question is, Clive Woody: why would rugby league start now when it is in fact your code that has interfered with a free market economy for decades on end?

What actually occurred was:-
1. The original code of rugby split into (later named) rugby league and rugby union.
2. Rugby league players were paid, openly and honestly, via the introduction of professionalism.
3. Rugby union also paid players, under the table and without paying tax, via the introduction of shamateurism.
4. At the same time, rugby union claimed the privileges of amateurism while persecuting rugby league, usually via the manipulation of politics, for its professionalism. Rugby union thereby permitted a gross outrage in the name of sport.
5. Rugby union then went professional itself, an act of breathless hypocrisy, without apology to rugby league for over a century's misbehaviour and lying, in 1996. Incidentally, this was instituted by the southern hemisphere rugby unions because of the fear and concern that rugby league was about to completely take over all southern hemisphere countries circa 1995 (especially with the introduction, so it seemed, of News Limited dollars). [For all southern hemisphere countries read "Australia, New Zealand and interestingly South Africa".
6. Rugby league has never interfered with the free gangway of players transferring from one code to another. Rugby union interfered with it for over 100 years.
The question is, Clive Woody: why would rugby league start now when it is in fact your code that has interfered with a free market economy for decades on end?'"
What has the above got to do with this topic?
RL has never had any problems converting star RU players and it continues to this day - some of the greatest RL players started their playing careers in RU
Stick to googling Art Gallaries!!!

Because what happened 100 years ago and how the games have evolved have little to do with Folau signing for union - simple really
Also you ignored the fact of all the union players that have taken the League money - Lewis Jones, Billy Boston, Trevor Foster, Eric Ashton, Martin Offiah, Jonathan Davies, Matthew Ridge, John Gallagher, Craig Innes etc

| Sorry Gijou, Serge A. if it ain't the play boy gallery, I'm not interested lol.
As for Folou, couldn't are less what he does, never liked him as a person and always thought he was over rated.
To top it off he's a god botherer from the second most %^$#$^% up religion there is, that = me not liking this little hypocrite one bit with his smug look and tough guy persona that he tries to portray, go ya big blouse, I won't miss ya.
