Further evidence that rugby league is the most valuable of the international sports in the region has now emerged.

Union just got their new TV deal...$437 million for 3 countries for 5 years.

With rugby league to get around $1 billion for the same period AND FOR ONE COUNTRY, it would seem to be the most valuable international sporting product in Oceania (AFL being excluded on the basis that it is not an international sport), if not the southern hemisphere...

I am unaware of the size of soccer TV contracts in South America but this is really the only competition to that title in the southern hemisphere...
