Superleague has long since been a place for the lame, sick, old or idle Aussie footy player to earn a few bucks when they are not wanted by an NRL side but now it really does seem money isn't everything, especially when you have a family.

I don't think anyone over here will have a problem with the Aussies that are only coming because the money is better, staying at home. We all want players to come who want to play, not just get paid.
And maybe the point of the story is that he sees a job opportunity for himself. Just sneaked that in the middle of the story.
