| Sammut to Celtic Crusaders?
Seems a little odd. This is the same guy who put on 10kg of lean muscle this off-season ([iyeah, I know what with you're thinking - I tend to agree, 10kg of lean muscle in an off-season isn't possible without some assistance, just saying[/i) and was looking to make some head way with the first grade side. Apparently he will see out the contact with Penrith if this falls through, but the Panthers will not be stopping any such move as they are wanting to free up cap room for the resigning of both Michael Jennings and Frank Pritchard.

Already a thread on this.
This 'some assistance' comment.
Libelous?
I think so.

| In your opinion Barry_McKenzie my attention seeking friend, that's a line you love to spruke I've noticed in the short time I've been here. I've spoken to friends who are in sports medicine/training and the 10kg of lean muscle in one short off-season is in their opinion highly unlikely without some assistance. As you should know, opinion's are like a$%holes, everyone has one and they stink like s#$@.
I love the use of your big works Barry, nice touch. I ain't defaming Jarrad Sammut, I just question how he was able to achieve so much bulk in so little time.

| How would it be libellous, what loss has he suffered from such a statement.
I think the Ken Barlow case could be called to reference.

| I put on 10kg in about 3 months a couple years ago from doing simple home exercises complemented with heavy lifting at work. It's not unbelievable that Sammut could stack on 10kg to what was a skinny rake physique while training far harder and more often than I ever did.

| How tall are you GCD? You put on 10kg of lean muscle or weight? There is a difference. Anyway, I don't want to be bogged down on this.
I agree JB, Sammut has plenty of upside in potential and I think he can develop in to a fantastic player. It would be a shame for Penrith to lose yet another junior though the experience in the Super League might just do him the world of good and see him come back here a more mature and better player.

'Super' league is where the lame sick useless or idle Aussies end up, either for a pension, or because no NRL Club wants them.
Do you HONESTLY think the Panthers would let Sammut go if he was any good??
You have been exposed as a Pom on another thread
But please... there is no need to try and 'big up' the British game.

| Exposed because I genuinely follow a Super League team despite being in Australia? For the umpteenth time, you tool.
I honestly believe Penrith would let a player yet to establish himself as a regular first grader go if it meant retaining Jennings and Pritchard. You are slow on the uptake Bazza.

| How would getting regular playing time in first grade in the second best rugby league competition in the world not help improve a young player? Leaving him in the Toyota Cup or with a feeder club the better option is it?
Dazzle us Bazza.

Sorry mate.
Didn't realise he was going to be playing NSW cup footy. Thought you said he was off to 'Super' league?

If you actually knew anything about Aussie RL, you'd know the QLD cup is second to the NRL
Teams are falling over themselves to get out of the NSW comps and play in QLD.

| Should be a decent signing for them, does some good things but makes far too many mistakes to stay in the Panthers side and Coote looks better than him at FB.
I'm not sure where he'd play for the Crusaders, i know he can play a few positions which will be usefull for them. They need a FB but have just signed Gareth Thomas and the young guy Rhys Hansbury was meant to be coming over from Wests Tigers(not sure if he's here yet or not but he hasn't played) who's a FB. He could play alongside Witt in the halves.

| I reckon Noble would play him in the halves with Witt. maybe play him at centre at a push (He has bulked up considerably)
Speaking of full backs, rumour has is that the Crusaders are very close to signing ex Raiders captain, Clinton Schifcofske from Ulster. He's getting on a bit, (34 I think) but he could do a job for them this season. He was always a very solid player at the Raiders.

Sorry to interrupt your back and forth with Baz, but just incase you actually wanted a reply to this, I am 5'10". Without any formal testing, I can only only guess that it was pretty much all muscle I put on as my skinfolds at least seemed to decrease. It was me growing out of my teenage body, pretty much what Sammut is going through now. That factor alone makes it all the more believable to me.
