Ellis was awesome, Fulton was great, thanks to Steve Folkes for the boys fitness.

Ellis had a superb game. His hit on Brent Kite just after the break was a bell ringer! Great too see him get his first try for the Tigers!

George Rose made a massive impact for Manly when he came on. His ability to find the floor and bust tackles caused the tigers all sorts of problems towards the back end of the first half.

Full credit to the Tigers for coming back. It was a great game to watch

The first round has been absolutely superb to say it is only the first round, the quality has been excellent, and I hate to say this as an Englishman, the game over here is just leagues ahead of the Superleague I'm afraid!

Lote will go close though I think he is an outside chance at best. Our depth out wide is loaded. Queensland selectors are a loyal bunch too and they will reward the players who have done the job for them over the past four series, so unless there is injury, suspension or a dramatic loss of form, the 30 year old Lote may have to bide his time.

Justin Hodges won't be picked, he just won't have the games under his belt and we will have plenty of players in form to pick from. Here is the selection headache that will be presented to us (bold is certainties barring injury/suspension):

4. Israel Folau

We have these guys that have to fit in to two positions - with Israel Folau it's just a matter of whether it's wing or centre. I have a feeling he will be partnering Greg Inglis so for argument's sake I will slot him there for now (but if round one form is to go by, I won't discount the credentials of Willie Tonga who was sensational in a beaten side) The contenders for the two wing positions: Brent Tate, Lote Tuqiri, Darius Boyd and Willie Tonga. Hodges will come back too mid season too.

Good luck to our selectors, it's a nice problem to have.

Asking the wrong person. It's Origin, normality is thrown out. It's been happening since I can remember. Michael O'Connor, Andrew Ettingshausen, Chris Johns, Timana Tahu, Brett Mullins ... the list goes on. Happens more so with NSW than QLD I'd like to add. Such is our depth currently, we are able to shuffle players. All players listed above for QLD have played on the wing. Not necessarily at club level on a consistent basis, but at times have been on the wing for QLD.

It is what it is.
