| So say Brian Noble
“We also took part in an historic occasion. There were 10,500 people and probably 9,500 of those are new fans to the game. I think we sent a huge message and we’ll improve as a team as we add players to it.”
So Leeds only took 1,000 fans?
This cant be right

Leeds were issued with 1,000 tickets so it probably isn't far off being true.

| Think it stated on SkySports news at about 4/5pm that Leeds had only sold 700 tickets so you'd guess Noble isn't far off the mark

| Well it was a great start for the Crusaders and hopefully they will soon "get warmed up" and enjoy a good season.

| I heard that 700 had been sold Wednesday but to be fair I only learned about the amount of numbers sold in total at the same time though. I heard Friday that Leeds had sold thier 1000 allocation and I reckon the quick jump was people who were planning just to pay on the gate. TBF not that it made a difference but had the game been played on a Saturday I'm sure they Could have sold 15k tickets had they had the facilities.

Hmm. For 60 or so minutes, yes. Till the 'Super League' mentality stepped in.

Congratulation on the thread title: a truly amazing ability to spin the negative on anything.

True, i'm sorry if it came across as me knocking the Leeds fans, that i am not. I'm just backing up Noble's initial estimate that approximately 9,000 of the attendance are potentially new fans which is great

We need to find out how many freebie tickets were given out.
Wrexham FC season ticket holders were given them, but I wonder how many other 'freebies' the Crusaders gave out to other members of the public?
They tried this last year in newport and that didnt really work out

I'm not sure it matters initially, they have to promote themselves in the community and make sure people know about them. Last night showed there's potential in Wrexham in the long term. The difficult part is to attain a regular 5/6k attendance of paying customers.
Freebies to an extent are given away at all clubs. And it helps to create a long term fan base of paying customers if done correctly.

No petal WE don't. You're obsessed and the only thing sadder than your posts is that people actually bite and keep your dross going.
Why not get back under the blankets for a while... till say the day after the Grand Final.

Doesn't actually matter in this context , getting that many through the door is a hell of an achievement
I just hope they dont think that the job is now done , it has only just begun

| Crusaders next home games are Hull (21st Feb) and Catalans (19th March). 2 home games in the next 2 months? Is this good or bad?
On the one hand people may be more willing to make the effort to go once a month but it also hints at a bit of an anti-climax.
Or maybe it is irrelevant.

FWIW I am told that this is not true and though a lot of the tickets were discounted for one reason or another, none were freebies.

That happened with our first ever game at Craven Cottage, we had 4000 less in for the next one, which would mean c.6000 at the next Crusaders game - a figure that I'd imagine they'd be quite happy with.

I personally will be coming for the Hull match. We always bring a big (and vocal) crowd along so you can expect a decent turn out for that one as well I'm sure.
Crusaders away supporters will be the acid test of how much genuine interest there is in this club.

No, it won't.
The Catalans bring pretty much zero away support, and there's no doubting the interest in them.
You should think before typing.

Maybe you should think before responding.
Catalans are a very different kettle of fish.
I'll be interested to see how many Crusaders bring to places like Wigan and St Helens where there is no need to catch a plane and fly for 2 hours.

You would have thought that they will bring more than Harlequins. If they don't...then we might as well take the franchise off them now before it gets any more embarrassing. Salford and huddersfield should both take a bigger away following to the likes of Wigan and Saints than the crusaders will.

Not sure there is anything to argue?
Whats the surprise in a club from the south of France not bringing many supporters to watch a Friday night fixture at somewhere like the Willows?

The surprise is that you would therefore claim away support is an acid test of how much "genuine interest" there is in a club.
