I suspect the reference to NRL on ESPN's site is factually correct in that they did show 3 NRL games last season,both play off semis and the GF so technically they are not wrong advertising that they have shown NRL.

A bit different though to saying they are showing full season NRL coverage next year as they might do the same again but possibly add State of Origin as well?

The problem is that the NRL season runs alongside the AFL season, which ESPN already cover. ESPN only have one channel, do they have room on the schedule or even want to add the NRL to their offering. The 3 NRL games at the end of the season were only shown when the AFL season was over.

You think? It's ESPN or nothing I think and I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with a pay to view online service for NRL coverage. May suit a lot but not for me.

from what I saw of last years NRL, Channel 9 (which I watched mostly) was miles better than Fox..maybe i'm just a softy and Rabbits Warren Clinches it for me...

however i dont get to see the "in game" ad breaks that You aussies must get to see, which I didnt recall happening in fox matches...

Doesn't start while about mid-march so i dont think they'll be any news for at least another month or longer, that's if there is any news at all.
ESPN had the GF so i'd expect them to have it next year if anyone does, i dont think Sky will get it.
