It seems like almost every article he writes is a depressive screed, highlighting the negatives.

I didn't and won't. I don't see what booing does other than demotivate people. The players knew they had a stinker of a first half last week and didn't need reminding of it. What should have happened is we should have recognised that the team needed vocal support and gotten behind them.

never boo your own team just dont clap em off. save your booing for the likes of ryan bailey and paul cooke

a lot of the feelings were carried over from last year - especially amongst people that I know from the World Cup. 2008 was a disgrace, from all the players and coaching staff - but were told last week that we had learnt the lessons, moved on and various other cliches.

The first 40 mins were just an extension of the World Cup for me - same old failings and an inability amongst the players to "get up for it" (i.e. a lack on interest or motivation).

I applauded them off at the end, due to the increased endeavour, pride and interest shown in the performance.

I am a realist - I know we are going to be the underdogs in these games, and dont expect us to win much. The one thing I do expect to see is Pride.

Pride in the shirt, pride in the players own individual performances. The players should be proud to walk off the pitch and be able to say "I did my best".

well it seemed to work. i am sorry, but from playing the game in my youth, booing motivated you more than walking off at half time with no-one seeming to care and not showing their feelings openly.

I was actually at the bar for the half time whistle as i went down there after 25 mins

I don't really agree with the booing. But having said that, I felt like doing the same last year during the World Cup and in the Tri Nations the year before in Aus. I think what gets to me is the big talk so many England players have given in the past, and then hopelessly failed to live up to when it counts.

The comments about SL are spot on in that article. Until we have English players available at most clubs for most positions our strength in depth will remain awful.
