| Fantastic little ground.
But why build it where it is nearly impossible to park. Our coach from Keighley took about 40 minutes to find anywhere to park up.
Which let's face it, isn't anywhere near good enough for a large sports event.
Also, the food and drinks kiosks were woefully inadequate. Not enough of them, understaffed, overpriced, ran out of food before the Barrow-Halifax game kicked off and were closed completely before half time.
I really hope RFL don't host it there again because from a logistical and organisational point of view it was really poor.

| Should have used LSV.
Far easier access via A580, loads of free parking on site, 5 min walk from town centre, LMR and Leigh East clubhouses mins away.
Near 13000 capacity with all but one end seated.
Far more box/dining facilities.
Training/warm up facilities on site
Hotel on site

It's a bit of a walk from the train station though.

That's always a difficulty with triple header type events. When you have people in the ground for 6 or 7 hours, almost all of them will buy food & drink in the ground. For a normal game, probably most people won't.
It's the same for parking. 11000 Warrington fans coming to a game will likely include a significant number who walk (or take public transport). They won't normally have to find parking for 11 000 "away" fans with hundreds of coaches.

| Coach park on dallam lane?, can't say i've ever used that so i dunno how big it is, as well as the 3 games yesterday we were also hosting a half marathon around warrington so a load of roads were closed off.

| Is Wembley any better? I think you're being a tad harsh. Surely it's all part of the final experience.

Its not too bad, straight down the bi-pass from Atherton, or the scenic route from Daisy Hill

I understand where you're coming from. But our coach arrived at the same time as Cougar's team bus. 2 hours before our game kicked off and nearly 5 hours before the main event. I'm not expecting to find a coach park for hundreds of coaches like say Old Trafford has but all there was was a little coach park that was full by the time we arrived. It looked like they just plonked a ground in the town centre and didn't consider how people were going to get there.

They plonked it 2 minutes walk from Warrington Central train station, and the parking is certainly no worse than it was at Wilderspool. Maybe they could do with better signposting to nearby car & coach parks.

Sadly that has applied to most modern stadiums.
Some are even worse to get to/park than the originals and they were built when "travelling" support/mass transport were mere dreams.
I still go back to the galpharm when it was first opened and Cougars were the visitors!!!
We couldn't park anywhere in the official car parks and after 1/2 hr we parked up well away from the ground and walked.
It was a problem that day and only about 3000 were there
The bit that showed it up as badly planned was , that if it was a struggle then , the following week it was the Regal Final between Wigan and Saints!!!
Since then, if ever I have gone back to the windy eddifice I have gone by train Everyone pile on a 2 car diesel.
I realise it is not down to the clubs entirely but you can lay odds on that the people who come with the traffic planning etc live nowhere near the location they make the decisions on.

and you don't have to fight your way over and back wilderspool causeway/bridgefoot which is big part of the traffic problems in warrington.

'" But surely the catering people should consider that and try to ensure that the numbers are catered for - it wasn't as if it was the first time they had covered the event so they should have had some idea what to expect in terms of demand.
And as for the LSV would have been better? from my experience when I went to the Oldham v Featherstone match there earlier in the season then I don't think they would have coped any better catering wise - they were very poorly prepared aswell imo.

Exactly right. There is no excuse for running out of refreshments especially when some fans will have gone for all of the games and been there for hours.

| Can't use LSV for the final when Leigh have a chance at making it there.
Saints new stadium will be used when it gets built.
Our place would be great but maybe too big.

Waiting almost the entire interval between Cougars' lap of honour and the kick off for fax game (at least half an hour) just to get a pint was ridiculous too.
It was causing some fans to get very restless. There was about 5 staff trying to serve beer to a stand with 3-4000 fans in it. It was a complete joke and actually felt sorry for the catering staff who were taking a lot of flak for what could only have been their superiors incompetance.

| Was there for the Wigan-Warrington pre-season friendly.
There was 1 concession kiosk open for the whole stand, I got into the queue just before half time, by the time hooter went for half time, people were queueing the length of the stand, and lots of basic things had sold out.
Was glad i got some hot chocolate though, flippin freezing that day.

| Our coach driver had arranged for somewhere to park but by the time we got there it was full
Surely whoever was organising it could have made arrangements with local businesses in the area to use facilities that weren't in use because it was a Sunday.
Would have brought a few quid for businesses in harsh times but it makes far too much sense.
