One of the best games I’ve seen this year and an improvement from Saturdays offering of Saints and Wigan which was such a bore fest I walked out of my room at half time and didn’t return back for the second half.

Back to today’s game - had everything you could wish for in a grand final and is probably the best grand final we’ve had this year and yes it was better than the bore fest that was the challenge cup final.

Good luck for next season Halifax - I may even attend a few games.

But most of all well done to barrow for winning the final

Great game yes it certainley was. It was far better and more enjoyable than Friday nights game. Even Saturday's game was more enjoyable than that.

Barrow v Halifax was a cracking game but I also though Saints v Wigan was pretty decent stuff too.

The two super league semis had bits of highlights but not as many as this lower league final IMO.

One of the best testaments to the quality on show was the fact that in Ned Catic one of the players was a two time NRL Grand Finalist and while he had a good game, I would challenge anybody to spot that he was the one who had played in those games

It does beg the question why people don't think the UK players could make it down under when this was our second tier... but that's a conversation for another day, well played both teams

I enjoyed it, yes it was thoroughly entertaining but I as I was watching the fast open game I wondered why.
I took a minute to think and then it hit me.
Both teams were knackered after 20 minutes, neither defence moved up further than a yard, 2 at a stretch from the referees mark and gave the attack time and space.
It looked good on TV, but you simply wouldn't be allowed that time at Super league level, guys making 12 yards at a time on a one man drive.

Before you all go crying into your supper, watch it again if you dont believe me. I will concede though, it was by far the most entertaining championship offerring we've seen this year. I felt with the lack of full time teams the quality suffered during the season.

Now the NRL final, THAT was a game.

Really enjoyed the game today. Loved the stadium - nice and tidy and it carries a good atmosphere. Well done Fax for a terrific defensive effort and well done Barrow. NRC finalists and GF winners at the first time of asking. Great achievement for the club and their colourful chairman. A great day out. Roll on 2010 !

Sometimes the issue with the game is the number of identikit athletes running around as opposed to players with genuine high skill levels. Even as a Wigan fan, part of me enjoyed today's final more than yesterday's serving.

Both Excellent games today , decent followings from all 4 clubs with a special mention to Fax

Personally i think this seasons championship games on Thursday night*s have been fantastic entertainment which was backed up by todays finals...Hope Sky carry it on for next season....

barrow couldn't get to the tempo in the first 25 minutes, and were lucky to only be 10 behind

though, the raiders scrambling defence was superb, and the try just before ht was the inspiration to progress in the second 40


broadbent had the game of his life, how proud must he be tonight?

I thought Fax shaded the game but Barrow rallied & scored when it mattered good game though, delighted with a Barrow win



Broady was solid again tonight but Black was class also, very close game this, but it dosent half show you just how far Barrow have progressed recently

Not at all. Gary Broadbent plays like that every week and has done for many years.

And he has always been popular with the fans wherever he played - 100% effort every game. When a player gives that the fans will forgive the odd mistake.

I enjoyed all three games yesterday. Another 5 minutes in the Keighley-Oldham game and Oldham could have won. There was no sign in the Barrow-Halifax game that either side was treating it as a meaningless friendly, despite the fact that there wasn't a promotion place to be won.

Seven hours sitting on a cramped seat did me no good at all though - it reminded me why I prefer to stand in comfort on the terraces (though I doubt if I could do it for seven hours).
