according to radio humberside, 5 clubs have received e-mails from the RFL regarding their grounds and the promise of improvements before the next round of the licensing in 2012, wonder who they could be.......

all above clubs have at sometime promised to improve their grounds, mainly words and no actions

Take out Saints as there new ground is already underway I believe. Hope the RFL don't fall for these pipe dreams about new stadia by other clubs though.

They've added a bit to the Roger Millward stand, but I wouldn't say adding an extra 10m of standing capacity was "loads".

They are planning ground improvements, but in the same way Cas, Wakey and Salford have got planned. Yet their evidence remains invisible.

Saints are just waiting on the tenders now, then it is all systems go...

Being biased I'd say takes Cas and Saints out. We've both got planning permission and are getting towards the building stages slowly but surely.

The others have got naff all in comparison.

Cas didn't know that there current home was not fit to be considered as a suitably equipped stadium WELL before the recession?

Cas are easly infront of the rest with the buiding works and that includes we can not do anything wrong Saints they will building in Cas very soon.
On the strengh of this who would they put in Leigh,Barrow Widnes teams like these who could not even compete with Batley never mind S League.

They working on the Ground Area for last 12 months getting it ready for the ground works which will start in December.

I think you're wrong BT because for the past six months nothing has moved on the old slag heap, not even the one solitary excavator.

To be fair, im quite surprised we're not in there. Its maybe because our ground potentially could be really good where as grounds such as the Willows, Belle Vue and Wheldon Roadmaybe dont have that development potential.

All three were assessed as having a stadium which was not upto scratch, all three gave, presumably honest, information on what they were doing to address this and how far progressed they were.

None of them, unless there was something we weren't told, were given licences conditional upon completion by a specified date.

The consequences of not being in a new stadium by 2011? We've had the answer to that for over 12 months already. It will cost the clubs a maximum of 2 points on their application, more likely 1 in the case of Wakey & Cas as both could almost certainly get their current stadiums up to 12k capacity if needed.

Not having a 'premier competition' quality stadium does not prevent an application and is no more of a detriment than not averaging 10k, not turning over £4million (or whatever the figure was)etc..

We've know all of the above from the outset, non story imho.
