Just seeing what people think to the Heinz/Wigan ticket scheme and if they think that all Rugby clubs should follow suit.

Clubs identifying local businesses that employ quite a few people and selling block tickets to them to give to employees.
Even if people don't turn up at least the tickets have been sold helping the clubs?
People who wouldn't dream of buying a ticket showing up possibly getting 'hooked' and coming again ?

Should this channel of revenue/marketing be move actively pursued ?

This is an area that American sports teams try to target quite a lot. I have seen several job advertisements where this is their main job responsibility.

It's not a new idea by any stretch. Huddersfield tried it with the University last year against Leeds and Leeds have themselves done it plenty of times with Leeds Met

I think it's a particularly clever way of selling advertising. All the fans in that block having Try/NoTry signs with the name of their company on looked good on TV. It was very noticeable.

When you consider how much it costs to make and air a 30second add it probably worked out very very good value for Heinz!

I find it hilarious that now it is seen as innovative as Wigan have done it when last year we were lambasted by the RLFans public for doing the same thing with the University.

Just goes to show that the best ideas are borrowed!

i know finforest when sponsors of widnes did somthing similar for a game against hull (where finforest also had a site). that must have been 6 years ago now
