is he going to have another hissy fit ?

I could shoot holes in the excuses he made for England's disastrous world cup....but I cant be bothered.

If he was a player of some significance...maybe. But not him.

Not a bad article by Jon.

Couple of things from that:

1. Why have they made him look like a rugger oik in his photo?
2. I'm not sure the marketing managers in RL will thank him for his Bovril comment!
3. Good comments about kids and schools. In Oz we have touch footy which is a simple smaller no contact version of the sport and is MASSIVE right across the country and in schools. Unfortunately the NRL/ARL failed to link it with RL but that's another story. Maybe the RFL should launch something similiar for schools tournaments?

"As players we didn't perform" is about as excuse free as you can get.

Was this because of his sheer stupidity of his excuse for the Grand Final defeat though? He would of had a bit of stick over that dummy spitting episode.(but then he has at least learnt his lesson)

There will be a lot of talk about Daniel Anderson dishing out a rollicking to us at the break.

To be honest, I think it is a complete and total joke that television cameras are allowed in the changing room.

Daniel's words and actions at half-time are for us, the players, not for public consumption. It is a privilege to be in the changing room and you should really have to earn the right.

It is a farce that the Rugby Football League sell out to television and allow a camera to be in the dressing room. What goes on in there has nothing to do with anybody except the players and staff.

I remember that dummy spit well (and criticised him at the time for it), but can you provide a link to his excuses for the Grand Final defeat?

looking at the number of youngsters coming through this year at knowsley road, wilkin will be one of the more experienced members of the squad.
not sure if he'll get as much game time as he'd probably like but being at saints he'll still make the squad for the 4 nations.

For me the fact he brought it up on his grand final article says that he is using it as an excuse but thats my opinion.

correct, and it is something that he needs to sort out for himself - does he want a media career or does he want to go on to develop and become a great player.

It wasnt used as an excuse for the defeat though.

i think he probably is - and to a certain extent you cannot blame him. Personally, I think he should spend a bit less time on the media stuff and more time trying to improve his playing career. He definately needs to up his game this year.

as a wigan fan id suggest the rest of the saints squad follow gis lead. the more off field distractions the better.

He was also a bit cheesed off because the Leeds players 'whooped' as they tackled the Saints players.

I mean look at what happened to him when he actually had to face quality opposition at the World Cup. Has anyone ever been more anonymous on a football field in history?
