Correct....
Alex Abbott-Tavener (Harlequins RL)
Joe Keyes (Harlequins RL)
Harry Lightfoot Brown (Harlequins RL)
...that Joe Keyes won't make it though......double barrelled names only at TW2
Interesting to see the lack of HKA fans bemoaning that they need more time.....like another 130 years

....to be fair, Huddersfield are one of the most progressive clubs in SL. They have less jonny foreigners than any other team and have a fan base that has grown considerably over the lst 5 years. They play in a stadium that is new.....and their academy made the GF Qualifier a couple of years back. They will improve on the conveyer belt front over the next 3 years.
Salford have a tricky problem. Are they "expansion" or are they not? They are looking over their shoulders at the next round of licencing and have assembled a pretty strong squad for next year.......
Hull Kingston Australians on the other hand are just an easy target...................

SL survival (11th place)
7th place (and SL Club of the Year)
4th place
7th place (but a first ever win in the play-offs)
Crowd increase from 2500 to 8000 in the space of two years.
Think you'll find we're one of the more progressive clubs actually GF.
With your pathetic support and lack of 'giving a s*it' from all but those 2000 diehards, I wouldn't say you're a progressive club personally, don't even really class you as an SL-standard club in fact.

No, to be fair - 1 from 39 is a bit disappointing. The only consolation is that for once we're been judged on meaningful indicator. It is possible that our development system will disappoint. It might be a success. Replacing Ben Galea with Lee Radford would make no difference, either way.
Hudds have come a long way and there is much to admire there. But what is the theory that their conveyor belt [iwill[/i produce more quality players over the next 3 years based on?
Salford are not an expansion club - they've won 1 more championship and just as many challenge cups as Hull KR. They joined the NU in 1896 and I think they've missed just 3 seasons of SL. Their squad does look stronger for 2011 - they've signed a lot of experienced foreigners, the quota-dodging gets Anyway, I think it is testament to just how far Rovers have come that we are currently judged in certain quarters by more stringent standards. Thanks for the back-handed and entirely unintentional compliment.

You could have posted this circa 2001 and been talking about London RL....Let's hope HKA come good over the next few years...then they can shake off the "team full of aussies" tag.

| I see that even though England/GB international teams are rubbish, the dumbo's who run the clubs still won't do the HARD work and train their own but insist on signing overseas crocks , cos they can!!!
Cas sign another overseas player cos another overseas player retired and a brit went to another club. They ADMITTED they need a centre!!!
That's how to nurture future talent and improve them!!!
What a condemnation of their coaching abilities and development scheme!!! ( applies to other clubs as well!!!)

We have replaced a home grown centre with a home grown centre and an overseas centre with an overseas centre, and if shenton would have agreed to stay we would have had two home grown centres. We also only have 5 overseas players which is less than most teams in the league and is sticking to the guidlines the rfl has set, last year we played 11 home grown players, 2 have since left and one more home grown player has returned, and we have 4 or 5 young players on full time contracts that all have a good chance of making there debuts this year. But dont let facts get in the way of your argument.

What a load of uneducated guff!
As has been already said, Cas lost two centres - one a homegrown England international - and have replaced the two centres with two homegrown players and a 21-year-old highly rated young centre rather than a 30-something other SL clubs bring over for a pension.
So next season, the first three choice Cas centres will be Joe Arundal, Jordan Thompson and Willie Isa. Average age: 19.6 years old.
Yeah, we don't do anything to bring through young talent.

Using Wikipedia as a scouting tool? Very good work. Rangi Chase isn't playing in the NRL, you don't get very many people saying he's a bad player do you?
I've never seen him play, but all the talk around the signing seems very positive. I'll judge him when he's played a few games in a Cas shirt.
Either way, I'd prefer SL clubs to sign young talent out to prove themselves rather than has beens like most other SL clubs are signing.

Rangi Chase is not a bad player but he is by no means a particularly good one.
He didnt make much impact when he was in the NRL with Wests Tigpies or St Choke...so he came to the UK.
As do so many NRL players who are either too old, not good enough or socially maladjusted

Not at all
Jamie Lyon was superb.
And I think Joel Monaghan should go well too.
but as for the rest......
What so many people can't seem to realise is this.
[uAUSSIE PLAYERS DONT COME HERE UNLESS THEY HAVE TO.[/u
I'm sorry...but thats a fact.
9 times out of 10 Aussie players come here from the NRL if they have been awarded the *DCM from their own clubs back home.
*Dont Come Monday.
This can be for a variety of reasons...age, quality and poor health top the list.
I can't see how anyone could disagree with that.
Its like owning a Porsche. Great cars. Look fantastic, drive even better. A real performance machine.
But like all things in this life they start to go wrong. They are expensive to repair. You fix it up because you love it. But bits break. That car ends up costing you a motza in repairs.
So what do you do with it?
You sell it to some bloke who is impressed by the name but ultimately doesnt know what he is looking for.
There we have it folks. Thats why you get so many of our players that cant cut life in the NRL any more.
