I thought we were better to watch and did just as well under Mcnamarra bar the semi final luck.. I feel Wane's style is perfectly suited to the international game and am happy with his appointment he is the perfect fit imo and doesn't need to double up with the club game.

I think a few people are missing the point when it comes to entertaining rugby. If he was signing up to coaching another SL club they would be rightly concerned but he's not.

I've been watching RL since the early eighties during that time I've yet to see us win a test series against Australia or win the World Cup.

How many on here would care about the lack of entertainment on show if it meant a hard earned ground out 2-1 ashes win against Australia or a World Cup win?

Of course its great if you can have both but you take the success if it comes the hard way regardless.

+1 ..............but regardless I am pleased with the appointment. Time to have a real crack at the Aussies and if anyone can make it difficult for the Kangaroos its Wane. Whether we are actually good enough to lift the World Cup in 2021 is another question. We did appear to be generating a conveyer belt of quality young players, but this past close season all I have seen is a large number of inports from the Pacific Islands and Australia.

I would support this signing. We need success at international level and wane is probably the best we can get.

Whether it is boring rugby or not seeing someone in a GB / England jersey lift a trophy is the publicity that the game needs.

First job is to get us back to being 2nd or 3rd in the world and then lets think about Australia.

In Bennett's defence....England didn't play last year so were always going to slip down the rankings. He took us to a WC final the in 2017 where we lost by 6 points and beat NZ the year after.
