As much as I dislike Leeds are Wigan fans really questioning the astuteness of a man who has overseen the most successful SL team whilst turning over a profit year after year over a man who has turned Wigan from making a profit into record losses?

Has Lenners sorted out when & where the WCC is gonna be next year? Be a pity to see such a money-spinning and historic contest fizzle out due to his inability to organise something viable.

What does it matter to you??

Survival is top of your agenda, you have got a squad equal to Leigh.

So how come you're making such big losses every year?

If he’s top dog can you explain why he keeps make a substantial loss financially where others are making profits?

If Trinity have a squad which is equal to a mid table Championship club, we must have one hell of a good coach to finish 5th in SL for the last 2 seasons

As much as I will wind up trin fans when possible, I agree that Carter is doing a splendid job of making a silk purse on a tiny budget......5th 2 years running is great given their tiny crowds and hovel of a ground (sorry....couldn't help myself)

In his time at Leeds, the club has won eight Super League Grand Finals, three Challenge Cups and three World Club Challenges.......find me a better or more successful administrator/Boss and I'll listen.......until then, you're just trolling!

Lenners will have a better record once he has been the boss for the same amount of time..

I have a lot of time for Ian.......he has vision and he has the right ethic for what is needed in the sport, but he is nothing like Hetherrington.....he's too much of a fan.
IIRC....he's shed 2k fans (£500k in gate receipts) a year since he took over.......has he replaced it with other streams?

Well I'm a Cas fan mate and whilst there is no love lost in our rivalry Hetherington deserves a knighthood for what he has done for Leeds and RL

Also -
Founded an expansion club from literally nothing which became stable, successful and profitable.
Has funded through the profitable running of the business the redevelopment of Headingley stadium - a project costing Leeds £30m+, absolutely unique in Rugby League in the club paying for it with no subsidising sources of funding.
In the meantime he was also a pretty fine head coach in his day and was the assistant coach to Ellery back in the '94 Ashes test series.

I've been to a number of RL literature events over the last few years. Hetherington is the only SL boss (who I recognise) that I have seen at any of them. At least 3. To say he is not a fan does him a disservice.

Certainly not with sponsorship he hasn't. Wigan's last accounts recorded a £600k drop in sponsorship income.

No and that’ll be why he’s leading the way to wanting to take money from the Championship clubs because he’s unable to stop the losses and make a profit himself so needs more handed to him.

If he doesn’t make significant changes (chiefly a stadium) and get them making a profit then in 5-10 years Leeds will be miles ahead of Wigan when the financial benefits of the stadium work and the substantial corporate facilities they’ve built come rolling in. Leeds’ short term pain will be well worth it when then long term gain kicks in in the next few years.

Good example is Juventus who became the first Italian football team to build and own their own stadium with all the new corporate facilities. Skip ahead 10 years and they’re constantly winning the league and buying Cristiano Ronaldo in a huge financial deal whilst the other big names like AC and Inter, Roma, Lazio etc. are trailing well behind and lack any real star signings.

I said IL was too much of a fan, not that Hetherington wasn't a fan.....IL would quite happily still be bankrolling London as well as Wigan if he'd been allowed and neither would be profitable......but he's too much of a fan and unable to step back IMHO......like Beaumont but not as gobby
