haha, just imagine that one day an Old Trafford look-a-like will be towering over the Warrington skyline.

There's one thing i do know about the pies they are very passionate about their RL and believe you me that hurts admitting that being a Saints fan.

£250k-£400k to hire Wembley for the day.
Leigh Sports Village cost £83 million. Saints stadium is going to be in the region of £25 million. Emirates stadium (capacity 60k+) cost just short of £400 million.
Bit of a no-brainer really.

A load of slum housing and a bunch of wigginers, but no railway station.
Hotel, college, athletics track, pitches, leisure centre/gym.

28,000 would be spot on for our national stadium. Focus on filling that for a few years and then look to expanding maybe.
One of the biggest reasons RU is so far ahead in terms of international RL is because they have their own stadia and they can fill it. Twickers, Millenuim, Murrayfield.... the list goes on, they are massive in terms of income and we miss out.
I would hope we would link up with Leeds United and use Ellend road once its had its makeover, that would be pretty good.
England RL needs a proper home, we don't currently have one and I find it quite embarassing to our game.
The roots should of been planted years ago like they were in RU but unfortunatly no one had the forsight.

| We get 70k for the grand final and challenge cup final, a 28k stadium would be useless. Unless you think we should have a national stadium and then not play our biggest games there.

Lewis should grow some and demand they give the RFL the Olympic stadium. West Ham won't need it in the Championship after all.

I think its pretty obvious that it would be used for international games first. It could be used for both semi finals of the cup though.

This comprises 10087 seated 7757 standing and 140 wheelchair.
However the big difference is in the quality of facilities on offer.
The new stadium will have corporate entertainment facilities comparable with some premiership football clubs, never mind SL clubs.
The current Stadium just lacks these facilites. At best only a couple of hundred can be wined and dined.
In the new stadium it will be something like 2000.'"

A roof! How unhygeinic - a brick wall open to the elements is far healthier.

I'm talking when the game was first formed. Twickers has been around for years. It has been developed over a long period of time.

That's why a national stadium is a no goer though. It would be a farce to build one that isn't big enough to hold the games biggest games of the season, so we'd need an 80k seater, however it would only ever be used a few times per year, and most of those games we'd get 40k maximum. The two semi finals as you say and Internationals when we get them, but that is only every two years.
Twickenham gets enough games to pay it's way, an RL national stadium wouldn't.

But how in this day and age do you get a stadium of the required size built for a price the RFL can afford? It's not realistic.

Plus WCC, and the challenge cup semi finals. The NRC finals and 7's, this would allow them to grow. All the lower league finals.
If we had such a big stadium it would also be used for concerts and various other things.
The problem is, we don't have the money yet. This needed planting when the game was in its early years like twickers. This is why I said we would need to link up with another rugby team or a big football team.
