I thought it would have been Brett "The Dancer" Kearney.

So in effect the video doesn't match the marketing campaign......sorry to be pedantic and picky but I thought the whole point was the play-offs.
KR - Dobson
Cas - Chase
Bradford - Sammut (if he stays)
Salford - Patten (if he stays)
Widnes - I'd go for Shaun Briscoe.'" I'd go with Winterstien for Widnes. Beast of a man.
You could make him look extra big, like the Jonah Lomu/Tony Underwood advert from years ago.
Also, maybe given him claws and/or horns, fangs, maybe an hunch back.

Perhaps there's a second advert on its way, with (amongst others) The Wrecking Ball and Try Tornado?

| ... this looks great... but where is it going? why? part of what campaign?
Let me use a great video to take another opportunity to whine about the RFL - of course without enough evidence in this case of what's going on to back up my guess - but ... this looks like the work of a 1st rate agency done for a 4th rate client.
One of the reason I find the RFL so b****y frustrating is that they can occasionally find a partner that does something really good, but there's no convincing roadmap from the RFL themselves of what their vision is for the game (all of it), by which we can judge these things. i.e. "is it helping to deliver the vision?"
Great ad...but...

I'm going for Ryan Hall as the hoody'd vandal.
Someone ask Crabsticks or Stomkins on Twitter, they'll know.
Classic comment from someone on the video website where it's hosted;

My understanding is that this is a test campaign centred around the play-offs; if it's well received, I gather there'll be more to come.
I'm glad that the RFL have twigged that the athletes are the ones who'll attract people to watch the sport; they should now be working with some of these individuals to help them achieve more profile; get this League of Extraordinary Gentlemen to do something collectively for Sport Relief for example and tout them for as many interviews, panel show appearances and reality shows as possible.
With a bit of vision, it's entirely possible to raise the profile of RL by trading on the image(s) of its finest exponents; I'm not convinced that the RFL has that vision mind you, but they could fix that by appointing a proper gaffer and sidelining Big Nige to the accounts dept.

| Great concept but it needs maximum outlet. Hope this is just a sample model and then they go out and make one better and more extraordinary.

I think it is. I'm sure I read that somewhere.
I know I read recently that the direction of RL marketing is changing. The focus isn't going to be on specific events but on the sport. That makes better sense IMO. If the purpose is to attract new fans - which it is - then with what limited funds the RFL has available to it, money is better spent promoting the game in creative ways at significant times of the year rather than promoting an event for a sport people don't know about. The RFL can then back up specific events with their email promos to fans, as usual.
It would be really good if this video or any future ones could be shown on national TV at strategic moments. Costly, mind, but it would be good. What a difference it makes when a company that knows what it is doing is employed to do the job. Oh for a bit of extra cash in the game!
I really enjoyed the video. I don't think it matters which players are in it. The themes of RL were all there and expressed very effectively (only the flying balls of fire were a bit out of synch with the environment but hardly to the detriment of the video).

| I'm not getting superheroes from that. It looks a bit like a circus or freakshow. A bit like the fairground in season 4 of Heroes, where they all gathered when they were rejected by the rest of society.

| Has anyone spotted any of these as bill board advertisements in Manchester yet? The Leeds Ryan Hall one is outside Piccadilly station on the corner of Fairfield St / London Rd and the Hull Tom Briscoe one is by the Mancunian Way as you join it westbound off the A6.

| Think when Roby passes the ball through the wall the second time, it should be picked up by Ben Westwood (Dobson?!), who then runs through a brick wall, passes it on to Ryan Hall who then grounds the ball between two colliding trucks before they hit each other. Would fit in with the theme.

That's exactly what you're meant to be getting - it's based on [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_League_of_Extraordinary_GentlemenThe League of Extraordinary Gentlemen[/url, a comic series by Alan Moore based on the concept of a group of Victorian literary characters (Quartermain, Nemo, Invisible Man etc) working together; it was later turned into a bloody awful film that Moore himself disowned.

Agree it didn,t flow quite right needs to balance out the mystery with the power of rugby league.
Hopefully there a couple of "episodes" to get it right.

Two massive billboards right next to piccadilly train station in manchester. Really eye catching stuff and great promotion of the sport.
