This is true, the amount of effort put into making this the biggest crowd of the Season for coming back to the Stadium has all been ruined, and we'll likely see a sub 6k crowd...again because of sky. It's a Huddersfield mentality to watch the game on Sky rather than go. You need to add 2k to every game that's on sky for us this season to see what we could have got in terms of averages.

We spent the money doing the mailshots to all 10,000 Season Ticket Holders, sending them stickers to advertise the game on 24/07, and then it got pushed back 24 hours.

But saying "they knew the rules" is about as helpful as saying nothing. Teams should not be punished for marketing games. This should not be happening.

I understand the point completely but it doesn't stop my sympathising with Huddersfield. It's a club often on the receiving end of criticism for low attendances and it must be extremely frustrating for them to make these efforts to draw people in, only to have their arrangements messed up with not very much notice. The fact that such a move is a possibility
is no consolation.

Yes, but Sky should have said that they were moving the game at an earlier date. This never should have happened.

The club had targeted families for most of their marketing for this game too, now lots of them wont be able to attend on a saturday night!!.

It happens every year and we get the same old whinges from fans.

Basically, IIRC, and Bilko will confirm this, Sky select the games for the first half of the season and then after that they have certain deadlines in which to select games by.

In fact, I'm sure Bilko has a list of dates games are selected.

when crowds are as low as Huddersfield's then every tiny obstacle to getting people to the game seems much bigger than it is
forget excuses, improve the product and get people to the game

if two challenge cup final apperances in the last few years and flying high in the league doesn't attract fans, then nothing will imo, i think giants have peaked with their attempt at finding new supporters, ok they may get the odd extra thousand or so for big games, like promotions, but it's season ticket sales that they should be building on,(not at heavily discounted prices too)

you should not be able to move a game from 6 weeks before kick off. Sky need to set their schedule and lump it. They should NEVER be allowed to move a Cats game due to travel arrangements for fans (home or away).

Will still be a good crowd with Rovers desperate for a win and on a good run there'll be plenty of Robins heading over I reckon.
