| I would make every SL team have at least 12 Home Nations qualified players in their match day squad. They can have as many overseas / non home nations players in their overall squad as they like, but only 5 can play on match day. Oh and coaches count on the 5.
This would help to ensure that both home nations qualified coaches and players were given advantageous treatment leading to greater exposure on a more regular basis.
Alternatively I would make non Home Nations qualified players salaries count double on the Salary Cap.

| More points for a try which is scored early in the tackle count.
eg a try scored in the 1st or 2nd tackle worth 5 points.
this might create more exciting moves early in the tackle count instead of playing for position!

Much more realistic and far superior.
I mean, unlimited tackles as soon as you enter the 20 thats bad enough, go and watch union but then you exit the 20 and 'have' to kick?? ahaha where? and within how long, how many steps are you allowed?? I dont know about you but id just boot it at the nearest persons face and claim 6 to go.. oh wait you cant.. you dont have 6 tackles anymore. The 20m line becomes the new try line and then its just quick rucking and the defence has to retreat all the time. Quick ruck until you score, whether that be 6 tackles or 26.
Utterly ridiculous

| Atleast the league version of the unlimited tackle in 20 metre line would be far more interesting to watch, then the yawnion version.
Kick it up in the air where do you think?

| In international matches, the Australian national side shall have to play in Wheelchairs, to make it a bit more fair, the outside backs can use electric ones.

| Mine is nicked from union.
A kick dead in goal would result in a scrum to the opposition where the kick came from, get rid of this negative hoofing the ball down field to clear lines and punish team by starting on their 20.

Well myn is,if the attacking team is in the 20 metre line of the opposite team they should be allowed to continue play until they step out of the 20 metre line which then they must kick the ball back to the opposite team. All in all teams have to tackle their backsides off until they drive them out of the 20 metre line.Which could make it very very interesting.Continuos play means excitement plus.

Mine would be a voluntary tackle rule. Very simple if you go to ground as soon as the opponent has touched you it's a handover. Only bit of the game i really don't like. Watching 18 stone props falling down as soon as contact is made looks silly especially when they should be making a bullocking run through their opponents.

Ive said this on the thread about referees, Graham is ridiculous for it.
RL must have become the only contact sport where the attackers job is to get to the floor and and the 'tacklers' job is to keep them off it.
I wouldnt put such a rule in place though, id just call surrender a lot bleeding more

| If you can start the play without a P.O.B, I think you should be able to, If you make a blistering run, and someone tackles you, I hate it when they have to wait for a line to be formed - if you can get up, you should be able to tap and run with it.

| Couple of them-
Clear try scoring. None of this grazed with a little finger, it has gotta be hand on ball and
Held up over the line. quicker tackles over the line. It is stupid when big fat players can just wriggle about for a minute while they try and get ther ball down. It is supposed to be when movement stops, but this is really followed. I would prefer stricter held rules than in the field of play.

Why? Don't you mean the Kiwi side? They're World Champions and 4 Nations Champions! To make it more even, Australia have to play without Chokey Slater in Finals so the Kiwis don't keep winning?

| To overcome the 4 man tackle slowing down the play the ball, why not give the defensive team the same amount of time to roll off whether they have 4 men or 1 men in the tackle. Its mental that we effectively penalise a man for making a good tackle on his own and reward the case where 4 are needed with this 1 or 2 second each to roll off fiddle.

| This is an easy one to solve, all the ref's need to do is count the tackle time, if the defenders are still involved after say a count of three then penalty. Of course you could have sly attackers trying to hold them on to gain a penalty, but to counter this get rid of the one-on-one only stripping rule so the attacker has to have greater ball security and can't really worry about conning the ref.

i think thats an excellent idea, along the lines of the 40/20 it will put defences on the back foot introducing more uncertainty.
thoughts?'"
It's interesting, but I doubt it'll be introduced properly.
A little bit too radical IMO.

| Sounds interesting that, although not sure how much it will really affect things (I suspect the 5m would need to be increased to 10m as if players practice this a lot you could end up with it being used simply as a way to get more tackles rather than out-and-out attack, which is the aim of the rule). I gather the NRL is also pushing for scrums to be at least properly bound and stopping players being able to simply touch the scrum before the ball is cleared. That will hopefully slow down the defence a bit and give more space for attacking scrum moves.
I would add the rule already suggested that if a kick is made from within your own half and rolls dead, the defence get a restart from where the kick took place. Currently its a dull play and rewards nothing more than being able to kick a long way. I also agree that a cleaned up grubber kick (certainly from within 10m of the line) should result in a 20m restart, not a drop-out. The aim of the rule was to encourage risk-taking kicks in an effort to score tries, but in reality 9 times out of 10 the aim is solely to get the ball back, not to score.
