Agree with that. It happens too much throughout the league but was particularly noticable tonight. Something to be looked at for next year. I feel it's time to get the second ref in to police the rook.

He's just terrible. Proof, if it were needed, of how poorly the Sky coverage is overseen.
I can't stand him talking to people using their nicknames either (Baloo etc).

Here's a thought!
If they could run, pass and tackle, and play to the laws, then they wouldn't have to any match official involvement.
Sadly theye were incapable, to varying degrees, of applying the above and suffered the consequences.
Also, and this one will totally blow your mind, if they had scored more points than the opposition they would have won.

With Brough as a leader of a team that team will never succeed because good teams will just treat that as a joke and a psychological advantage from the kick off before one tackle is even made. All they need to do is push a few boundaries and Brough acts like a 13 year old ADHD kid who hasn't taken his medication. He's a total joke of a leader. Which is a shame for him and Huddersfield because he's a decent player when his mind's on it and they're a decent inoffensive club outside that one man.

Not far wide of the mark, IMO. Before he discovered his Scottish ancestry there used to be howls of outrage every time the England coach overlooked his talents. Last night was the perfect illustration why they were 100% correct to do so. Even then, he was only facing a Wigan side in cruise control rather than an Aussie or Kiwi one out for blood.

I think you need to judge Broughs performances on how his pack are playing.
Lockyer and Thurston would look like championship players playing behind our pack ( in the big games).
But most Giants fans think he should be nowhere near being Captain.
It seems it is only Anderson who does.
Hopefully he will be replaced by Hinchcliffe next season and can concentrate on playing Rugby.

WAtching it last night, i did wonder if you were only playing with 12, as there was very very little involvment from robinson, or leeming or whoever was playing at hooker.
Noticeable by abscence.

Performances, certainly. And it's true for every half. But while I wouldn't expect him to engineer a match-winning effort on the back of last night's pack effort, neither would I expect complete and utter anonymity.

| well, that's your answer, we bottled it again didn't we?
that was one of our worst performances of the season, we never looked up for it, whether last week took it out on us i don't know but we just lacked energy, intensity and the basics of rugby league!
don't think wigan were all that good but they didn't need to be in all reality, they did what they had to do and did it well, congrats to them,
but it's the same old story with us, we manage to get a good following, ( for us anyway) manage to get the interest in the giants up and then proceed to churn out scheisse like that!

we all said at half time how wigan have been very good at "attracting" penalties and we were as stupid for falling for it all the time, you know if you are anywhere near the PTB after 'held' is called and the tackled player begins 'milking' you're gonna get done, there were countless times where we fell for it.
it's a horrible part of the game and the sooner it is stopped the better.
Martyn Sadler alluded to this last week when he said we were caught out by ablett earning penalties, seems we weren't clever enough to not fall for it again!

Fall for what? Your team spent most of the first 20 minutes messing around at the PTB.

| Perhaps the image that should remain from that game is of a 19 year old rookie, who was out of his depth at the start of the season, constantly picking up one handed at the PTB and running at set of far more illustrious defenders. You could almost hear the chorus of "Oh no not again".

I wish you would stop peddling this .
Our players get pinged for slowing the game because our forwards dont win the ruck. Other teams can do it less blatantly because their forwards have better technique and quicker play the balls.

That's spot on. I think Barrie Mac mentioned it in commentary too. Wigan managed to land on their front and facing the right direction allowing them to get up and play the ball quicker. Conversely Huddersfield were dominated and turned onto their backs facing the wrong way subsequently slowing them down.

Yeah and it's laughable that you think your team are whiter than white and it's only certain teams who try and milk penalties and why the likes of Wigan and Leeds are successful......this self-pitying post from a thread you started on the Hudds board.
"something that's bugged me about the game is "earning penalties", by that i mean actually trying to encourage your opponents to commit offences rather than just happening.
wigan and leeds are the best at it and it's no coincidence that they are the most succesful clubs of the modern day.
"milking" penalties as always gone on but it seems to be as much part of the basics of the game as passing and tackling.
Martyn Sadler wrote in last weeks league express that we were dumb to get caught out by ablett who is a master of winning penalties, every game we see players dropping balls in the tackle, or at the PTB, or falling over at the PTB and appealing to the ref who usually gives a penalty.
wigan seemed especially good at drawing penalties from us last night and we fell for it!, the question is, why do we not use this tactic? sometimes i feel we are too honest as a team, we rarely try and "win" penalties by the use of over reacting and feigning.
as i said i don't like it but it's an accepted part of the game now and we should be trying to get away with it as much as the others do!"
Poor old Huddersfield, if only they weren't so honest and "tried to win penalties" like the rest of SL. But apparently they "don't try this tactic"
