Tony Smith, for blending the best all round team I can remember in a long while, and one thats torn through the rest of the league on a far more even playing field that has ever existed.

Tony Smith or Trent Robinson. I think Robinson would be unlucky to miss out, that guy has done some excellent work this year to turn around a woeful Cats team. But then Tony Smith has created arguably Super leagues best ever team if you look at the leagues For/Against and the way they've played. Be a shame if either missed out.

Torn through the rest of the league? They only won the LL by 1 point, got knocked out of the cup and haven't won the GF yet.

Trent Robinson would probably get my vote, TS if he won the GF, Maguire if he did.

It'll be awarded before the GF if last year is anything to go by, and it'll go to Smith IMO.

Robinson should be in with a strong shout for me.

Why would it go to Smith? Although I will not be surprised when it does. (If it was after the GF and they'd won it, then fair enough).

probably because his team has been the best.... and it has played a scintillating brand of rugby.

if wire dont win the grand final then he probably wont get it though.

It's got to be Mcrea he recovered so quickly to resume his Sky work once he received his severence, and is still pulling the wool by choosing the Sky pound at Wigan whilst his new club were getting battered at Leeds.

Why would McGuire get coach of the year isnt he stand off at Leeds?

For me its a close call between Robinson and Smith. Robinson has changed an average Catalan team into a team to fear and Smith has just provided great consistent rugby to watch all season.

Maguire has also been awesome for Wigan and has maintained the standards that he set last year. However I dont think he will win it this year simply because 'been there done that, time for someone elses moment in the spotlight'

I look at what a coach has done with limited resources and TBH any good coach should have it easy at Wire and Wigan. I would go for Trent Robinson.

you would have to say Robinson. Catalans were a basket case prior to his arrival, he has got them improving, again.

Looks between Robinson and Maguire now IMO.

If Wigan win the grand final I don't think you can look past Maguire because doing the double is pretty much the ultimate.

If we don't win it then Robinson just pips him IMO. He's turned the Catalans around and they'll improve again next year. I think everyone in rugby league is proud of the Catalans as a club and it's great to see them do well.
