| Quote ="nottinghamtiger"Even as a Cas fan I wouldn't have Shelton in. Solid, but not reached the heights of 2014. Millington should be a shoe-in though.
Campese hasn't been anywhere near as good as Kelly from the games I have seen.
I think Cuthbertson deserves MOS on performances so far, but there is a lot of rugby to be played yet.'"
To be honest, I plucked Shenton out of the air, I can't think of many centres who've stood out consistently over the season. Percival has missed a lot of it, Pomroy? Ken Sio?

Joel Moon for me. I'd have Sio and Oldfield on the wings, though there have been a good number of wingers in good form this year.

| Best for me has been Cuthbertson at Leeds, but the most exciting has to be Albert Kelly.

| I think the tough thing if you were going to give it to a prop is that Cuthbertson, Hill and Walmsley have all been so good.

| Roby or Hill - both Mr. Consistent for their clubs, and both are always consistently immense week in week out.

| Cuthbertson by a mile for me. Watch a decent amount of NRL but thought this guy was just a journeyman. Couldn't be more wrong.
This guy and Leeds are a perfect match, free flowing off the cuff offloading game. Don't think he'd be half as effective at wigan for example.

| I remember seeing plenty of Cuthbertson at the Knights, and he looked like 'just another forward'. Mind you, they were a dull side. I think there are some NRL players who flourish here more than they did there, not because SL is "easier", as such, but because the way the game is played here suits their style of play. I figured Luke Walsh for one such, although injury has limited him, and Cuthbertson is clearly another.

| Roby's just something else. He really cranked it up a notch against Huddersfield and was the difference in the end. Every week he's our best player. High work rate, dynamic runner, top tackler, great service, kicking game, vision, guile.

I think Roby is arguably the best player in the competition. I've never seen him have a bad game. He's been doing it for so long now it's expected of him and doesn't draw as much attention. Someone like Cuthbertson is performing way above expectation as such is attracting the media attention which is reflected on threads like this one. He deserves to be in with a shout but isn't head and shoulders above others as some are suggesting. I've not managed a live SL game this season as London are not there anymore. From the TV games I'd pick a shortlist (in no particular order) of Roby, Hill, Cuthbertson and Taia.

If not him, then Roby or Taia.

It wasn't drugs was it? Wasn't he named as one of the NRL players suspected of being involved in blood tampering? Didn't they use animal proteins in blood transfusions to accelerate muscle growth or something?

The problem with Roby is that he is a victim of his own high standard, he is world class and consistent most of the time and is probably handicapped because of it as far as MOS is concerned.

| Roby is a complete machine and is having a ridiculous season. I'd dread to think where we'd be without him. As some have said, he's just a victim of his own high standards and doesn't really attract attention any more.
Also agree with the Cuthbertson shouts and Hill is always top class too, bit whiney last night though.
Walmsley is also killing it. Good season for props!

| Roby's the type of guy who'd use the MoS trophy to prop open the potting shed door. Never seen anyone so good at flicking the switch on all things SL.

I believe Jamie Lyon did just that, left his MOS trophy behind the door at his rented house and flew back to OZ. Maybe Roby should have a special trophy to honour is superiority.

Because he plays for the love of the game and the team, not the individual plaudits?
On the topic of the best player, Walsmley ran for 174m on Thursday, making 35 tackles and 7 tackle busts. Chris Hill ran the ball for 96m, made 49 tackles but 0 tackle busts. Guess it depends what you place the most emphasis on for a prop. Roby has been so good for so long that you just accept it as standard for him now.

| Kevin Locke, on a serious note though not in terms of the league as we plummeted after Easter but Niall Evalds has been outstanding for us, real young talent will probably end up at Wire or Saints as we won't be around much longer!
