Definitely, Haughton was absolutely devastating at times. He would've walked into any side in the World.

Not sure if he's been mentioned but Henry Paul you could say wasted his talent in the other code. He was one of my favourite players to watch.

I think he only got 1 international cap for GB but still one of my all time favourite players from his time at Hull .

Ryan Sheridan. looked like the best scrum half in super league when he could be bothered way better than sean Long but just never seemed to turn up most weeks. always played his best games in cc.

What about David Myers? He was flying one point for Wigoon then disappeared. Used to always beat the first man.

There's a few youngsters from Saints mentioned and although it was far too early to say Andy Bracek has to be disappointed. Looked promising for [iThe S[/i for a couple of games and decided that he wanted first team football instead of development in the Saints system. Went to Cullen's Warrington and the rest is history. Think he's playing in Cumbria somewhere now.

Shaun Ainscough.

Bit harsh on Kev, this threads more about people who were knobs and never became what they could have been. While Kev undoubtedly had potential he was perhaps overhyped and lost all his confidence when he became a target from our fans. He could definately have made it though.

He might have had a couple of fallow years in RU but when he came back to RL to play for us his class was there for all to see. Great player on the pitch, lovely man off it.

Also did an exceptional 2 year stint at Wakefield in the early 90's great player.

Agreed with the posters mentioning Simon Haughton. A massive talent who could of been the best second rower in the world.

Returned a few months later for Super League pre-season training looking like he had eaten Jarrod Hickey and was promptly shown the door, despite scoring on his only Super League appearance!

For different reasons, Hull KR stalwart Paul Fletcher never came close to fulfilling his potential either.

Easily had the talent to play for Great Britain but was too loyal for his own good.

Some players have wasted talent and just don't make the impact on the game that they should due to poor application. Some just never fulfil the promise that they show at schoolboy and U20 level

I remember that Paul Noone was going to be the next Sculthorpe and captained England at U18 I think. Not a wasted talent, just didn't really progress from talented youth player into top SL player
