Even if Salford had the 6 points deducted from the end of the 2014 season, Bradford and London would have still been relegated.

That's assuming that Salford only gained a 6 point advantage by having players in their team who - if they had stuck to the cap- may not have been there.

I'm dealing with facts, you're talking hypothetically. But I can tell you now a 56 year old Tony Puletua didn't gain us an advantage of more than 6 points.

I wonder if all those fans moaning that the points deduction is unfairly high were moaning that the deductions handed out to Bradford and Wigan weren't high enough.

Maybe if you had paid Puletua properly and through the correct channels, you may have had to do without one of your other "stars" so, the real answer is that NOBODY knows how Salford would have faired if they had stuck to the rules.

Who are you arguing with? Not one Salford fan on this thread since the punishment was announced has suggested the punishment was unfair.
According to Magic SuperBeetle this was the maximum punishment because of when the offences occurred. He is generally really strong around rules like this. I'm no expert but you might want to check what the maximum punishment was before you make statements

I take it was a slip up on your part where you miss the 2007 points deduction for not learning any lessons from the year before and errrr cheating the cap again and only getting the same 2 point deduction as the season before.

That last paragraph hits the nail on the head. We all know numerous clubs have been "manipulating" the cap for years and we (Salford) were just not very clever in how we went about it and deserve to be punished ACCORDINGLY. FFS, the way some of you are going on it's as though we brought in Inglis, Slater and Thurston to help us avoid the drop when (from what I've heard) figures involved aren't that high and partly involve a player who was way past his best and in all honesty probably made little difference to our squad and had minimal affect on the teams around us. Compare this to a team that brought in possibly the world's best forward 10 ot so years ago and deferred payments to avoid the cap and is there a huge amount of difference? Like I said, breaking the cap was wrong and we deserve punishing but please some of the comments on here (mainly from Bulls fans and Jools who is obsessed with Salford) are just ridiculous.

Worth pointing out that was insurance premiums for Shontayne Hape when he was injured playing for NZ though and NZ screwed their paperwork up. Those situations are exactly what the live cap was designed to avoid.

So it probably is partly Bradford's "fault" that Salford had to set up a tangled web of cheating infrastructure in order to deliberately set out to pull this off.

I have not set it up as a yardstick for public opinion. Every election there has been since the year 2000 is more than ample demonstration for anyone who pays any kind of attention at all that it is not. Nor is the relatively measured response from those Salford fans on here reflective of public opinion.

If you are not acting like a put upon victim for receiving one third of the maximum penalty for the most egregious attempt to circumvent the cap there has ever been then the charitable interpretation, the kind that normal people might use, would suggest my comments are not aimed at you.

There is now precedent for accepting the return of all Sky monies in exchange for continued membership of the competition. That money to be used for lining the other member's pockets rather than help with developing the game. As an excellent and fastidious record keeper I'm sure Marwan knows this. His share of that money paid for some, but not all, of this deliberate cheating.

You know exactly what i mean and I CBA getting into discussion about it. The fact that millions of people follow the likes of Joey Barton, Kim Kardashian et al on Twitter etc is a sad indictment of the world we live in. People are obsessed with detailing every point of their lives in a FB post..... Feel the need to tweet 100 times a day for some sort of attention and literally beg for FB and Instagram mates because it makes them feel loved/important.

Usually the most vocal people are the ones with very little of note to say. Just my opinion of course but one I'm happy to stick by.
