Funny that the overall upward trend peaked in 2012

The end of cheap tickets in Bradford and Wakefield no doubt probably contributed to that fall after 2012. Bradford's drop contributed on average 246 week on week. I suspect you'd see a more stagnant set of figures if those inflated figures were dropped down to a more natural level of say 8.5k.

Worry is that some big clubs seem to be in a downhill trend.

Hull 13,000 to 11,000 over past 5 years
Wigan 15k to 14k
Wire 10k to 9k

I'm disappointed that William has not spotted the amazing coincidence that seems to have occurred regarding the attendances for Salford's last two home games.

The difference between the crowd for the wigan/warrington game this year and last year says it all about Thursday nights. Rightly or wrongly people are staying away, good for sky not so for us. Would of been good for the RFL to try and take a stand on this when negotiating the last tv deal.

I did spot the amazing coincidence but I'm tired of making reference to the bull attendance figures of clubs like Salford and Catalan.

Of those teams who have competed all of those 6 years, the team with the smallest margin between their best year and worst year is......Leeds.

The team seemingly responsible for showing everyone the regular season doesn't matter and whose fans should be the ones most expected to just turn up at playoff time.

The Wigan away attendance there will have been massively affected by Sky, last year they went to Huddersfield on a Saturday, this year was a Thursday. Thursday games are shocking for away attendances.

Out of interest, how can they acutally work that figure out when both sets of fans were in the same stand and most of the Salford fans I went with paid on the gate?

exactly! that is the difference, had it been on a sunday those missing 900+ wouldn't have been missing.
we have had some shocking turnouts on thursdays this year.

as for the salford figures, those are estimated based on ticket sales and walk ups. this year salford sold just over 200 pre sold tickets and the club estimate that another 50 paid on the gate and how many seats they took up ( most of you were sat together in the one area), as for last year, then that is an estimation too, 48 pre sold tickets plus extra's on the day/groupon vouchers. obviously they aren't exact figures, just as with london and catalan, it's just guesswork

by my reckoning there was probably a good 20 or so catalan fans and i saw only 5/6 london fans.
