So No reply then to the statements made?
You would say it was "Violence"?
You would say that his coach told him to deliberately do that?
You think if the coach did say that Hansen was the player he would pick to do that? A player with as far as I am aware an exemplary record?
And it was more deliberate, violent, dirty, whatever you want to call it than Westwood?
Ok
I guess it was Richards fault that Monaghan went off also?
I'll guarantee that there'll be no excuses from me tomorrow if Wigan lose.
I could argue numerous things in finals that we've lost, I won't though.
Because top line is you play the game, you win or lose.
Take it on the chin and get on with it - And certainly don't get your excuses in early, it's like setting yourself up to fail.
As I've said on this and another thread (Mal Reilly thread) there's people who want the game played tough/hard etc. and yet the Faux outrage when a penalty or a decision doesn't go there way is laughable.
To be fair there's a lot of fans of all teams that are the same, same as All teams play and try to do the same things i.e. slow the PTB down etc.
However some fans and some teams moan when it doesn't go there way and look for excuses. Others just get on with the job and get it done.

It didn't. Just a suggestion but why don't you try reading the research rather than making I'll informed comments.
Not defending it btw but let's not pretend it was something it wasn't. People get assaulted like that literally every day without suffering what this punch was supposed to have caused. A blow from Mike Tyson, never mind Ben Flower, couldn't cause what this is being blamed for... and again I mean that literally.

The player was never the same again - seldom do people get such a direct hit from a defenceless prone position as Hohaia was and seldom from a athlete that so highly trained. We see plenty of cases where one punch can kill someone. I think you need to read the research.
He should have received a life ban - there is a difference between throwing punches that can be defended but to hit someone who cannot defend themselves is gutless and has no place in our game.

| Westwoods cheap shot on green was disgraceful. Wigan fans call him a thug yet their coach openly admits he is the one player he would've loved to have coached.

I have read the research. I suggest you do the same but I'll summarise here for you. The condition Hohaia retired from cannot be caused by a single blow. It is a cumulative condition. The research was carried out on NFL players who essentially wear crash helmets so the effects of large blows should, in theory, be largely diminished. What the research found was that it wasn't large blows that were the cause of the condition but repetition of small impacts. In fact the impacts could be quite small. Hohaia has had numerous concussions throughout his career (it came out in the aftermath of the GF incident) and had actually suffered similar symptoms previously. Why do you think he didn't sue?
Daryl Goulding similarly had to retire early and Kevin Brown is currently under observation. Again, these are the results of continuous and regular blows to the head, not from one single blow. In both cases (if and when it happens to Brown) a single incident will be the last thing that happens before they need/needed to retire. However, in no way, would that incident be the cause.
Let me liken it to a car crash. You see a car plough into a wall. On investigation it turns out the brakes had failed. It would be like you saying "of course the brakes have failed... it's just ploughed into a wall!"
You're confusing cause and effect.

You confuse my post - you suggested it wasn't possible to die from a single punch to the head even if it were Mike Tyson - that is simply untrue. Research supported by tangible evidence sugests your theory is wrong.

What the club doctor was most concerned about was the vertical direct impact because the skull couldn't deflect and take some of the shock. For example drive over a pothole with no suspension and you are going to know about.
That punch wasn't anything to do with sport it was split second madness of GBH.

I find it funny when Wigan fans constantly bring up that Westwood punch on Green (must see it posted on here half a dozen times a year) when their own coach said that.

I’m pretty sure quotes can be taken from any coaches pre match team talk and used to suit an agenda.
Not particularly good grammar but I’ll add one from the same teamtalk. ‘But do it legal’

| I am going for a Warrington win. Have had a soft spot for them since I saw them beat my team back in the late 40's. It was my first match at the Boulevard in Hull and their team included Brian Bevan, Harry Bath, Gerry Helme and Roy Francis among others. Roy Francis then joined Hull in 1949 as team captain, then became captain/coach and finally coach to provide a golden period in their history during the 50's when they reached 3 successive GF's,winning 2.
