So much for developing french players. Catalans reliance on the NRL is becoming a joke.

Maybe time to end the failed French experiment.
The French game nationally is no stronger, to get competitive games England don't even bother playing France anymore. The top team is stuffed with overseas players, many of whom have been booted out of the NRL and the best young players move to other SL clubs because the don't get selected.
They bring nothing of value to the other clubs, the home game against Catalans is the least profitable for every other club who would all make more money with a game against Leigh/Bradford/Sheffleid/Featherstone/Halifax.

I have a bit of sympathy for Catalans here. Yes they have recently signed two NRL players - but they are also losing Dureau, Henderson and Taia and possibly also Oldfield and Pomeroy. All NRL imports, so at the minute they actually have fewer imports for 2016 than they do for this season.

Add on to that the fact that they are also losing Whitehead to the NRL and also - perhaps more importantly - Ben Garcia. I have been really impressed every time I have seen Garcia play this season, so it must have been especially galling for Catalans to have a youngster with such promise up sticks to the NRL so early in their career.

There are plenty of decent French players in the Catalans side and earlier this week they also gave new full time contracts to Yaha and Lucas Albert.

An away trip to the South of France, or an away day to Featherstone? Hmmmmm.

I'm pretty sure Garcia is an Aussie but, I get your point.

He's French but did spend some time playing for Brisbane's under 20s before joining Catalans. So a bit of both I guess.

Garcia is french, as is Gadwin Springer, another french lad to move on from Catalan.

Jack Hughes to Warrington from Wigan. Good signing he's got loads of potential just needed game time.

He has played virtually every game this season for the Giants so not lacking game time.

Has loads of potential but like he did at Wigan he can look masterful one minute and make a big mistake the next,

Manu is a dud! He's one of the great (and numerous) examples of a player looking like a superstar in the Melbourne system and then being found to be bang average when they move on (usually for big money)- he's been a huge waste of money at Penrith and is by no means a starter at Penrith nowadays....

He's average, but looked great doing a simple job in the Melbourne system outside their 'big 4' - a poor signing in my eyes, and probably on a fair wedge...

Corey Thompson has signed a 2 year deal at Widnes from Canterbury Bulldogs.

I really do like to see the british player development system in full flow. The signings so far show just how good it is.

Corey Thompson isn't a bad signing - he always looks game, definitely a trier - I'd guess he'll score a hatful. Although not a regular starter for the Doggies, he always looks capable when he gets his chance and never let's anyone down.

Those who think Manu is a great signing - have you seen him play the past 3 years at Penrith? He's been average at absolute best... This year he's averaging 17 tackles and 8 hit ups for less than 70 meters per game and has only made 2 line breaks all year (15 appearances) - and it was hardly better last year, averaging 18 tackles and 8 hit ups for 72 meters - oh and he only made 1 line break all year (23 appearances). Those ain't the figures of a great signing and are the reason he's no longer a starter at the Panthers...

Don't be upsetting the Hull FC fans. It's their year, don't you know?
