| Quote ="Superted"Huddersfield Giants - The team that have placed the highest regard for their regular season finishing position.
It will be a great season for Hudds if they can go on and win the LLS. Unfortunately, I dare say if Leeds, Warrington, Wigan had placed as much importance on finishing top of the ladder, we might have seen a different league table - but the truth is, those teams are accustomed to placing more emphasis on their play-off form - that's where the competition is won.'"
ah something else now
where has it been stated that we have put topping the league as our highest regard????
quite the opposite if you hear what the coach and players have been saying...we all know the big one is the grand final but LLS is still something to win.
wigan and wire have both come out recently and said how much they want to top the league.

I never said it was Huddersfields highest regard, infact I'm 100% positive that winning the Grand Final is their main focus, but I do believe that they have a higher focus week on week on the LLS than either Wire, Wigan or Leeds. I dont think this is a bad thing for Hudds, and it's a job well done so far - it's still some acheivement to be the most consistent team across the season.
All I'm saying is that the way Leeds, Wire, Wigan approach the season has made the task that little bit easier for Hudds.

| No. I doubt they will win it. My bet is that Leeds will win it again, they know how to judge it just right.

| I think that as a wire fan, i think that neither club has had eyes for just the lls, i think that Huddersfield have supprised people with there consistancy. They have done very well to be at the top, and i wish we were there as it does give you a slightly easier run in to the play off's. They have just as much chance as anyone but if experience is anything to go by, i think the GF will be Leeds and Wire again. Both Hudds and Wigan do look slightly edgy in games against the better teams?

| we have had a great season so far, still a way to go yet until we can claim anything.
but think back 10 years ago, we had just won promotion back to super league after being bottom 4 years in a row and being relegated.
we have steadily improved year on year and from being perennial whipping boys and wooden spoonists we are now in a position to challenge for the league leader shield and possibly a crack at the grand final.
if i was a neutral and any other team had gone from bottom and serial whipping boys to competing with the big guns i would be happy for them, but as its Huddersfield..........
of all the other teams that were scrapping around at the bottom of super league and trying to avoid the wooden spoon/relegation, we are the only ones to have turned it around so much as to be now seen as contenders for titles.
we might not win anything, this or any other year but it is credit to the hard work of all the previous coaches and players that we are where we are now, and not forgetting ken davy!
added to that but how many other teams have been scrapping away at the bottom of the entire rugby league system just over 20 years ago?
its times like this, whether we win anything or not that is just rewards for those loyal few back then and makes those dark days seem even more like they were worth it.

| i doubt any of you posting on this thread has any idea what its like to take great delight in a victory over Keighley or Oldham or began to even imagine losing to Trafford or chorley, some of us have, jeez we were in dreamland when we drew st Helens in the old regal trophy and were sent into orbit when we played wigan in 1995
we have come a long long way and i for one am enjoying every minute of it right now.
i don't care if fans of clubs who are bored of winning trophies don't see the LLS as important or a mere inconvenience on the way to another grand final, these next few weeks will be mine, and every other fartown fan's moment to saviour!

Quite right, credit were it's due, and I hate Huddersfield, only cos of the beatings we've taken, but no, full credit to the club and it gives hope to those of us outside the traditional (Super League anyhoo) top 4.

| Thanks for that post Mart, as someone who like you was there for all those times, it's ace where we are now...if we finish top of the pile I will be ecstatic. And for the loyal 6/700 or so it will feel brilliant. Also for all the younger and newer fans I hope it will feel the same, I'm sure it will......and for all the naysayers, who cares, this is our time

As fan of HKR I & others who frequent Craven park know exactly how it feels to struggle. Whatever the final placing this year your team has probably had its best season of recent years I just hope for yours & the games sake it is not a one off. With the amount of local talent in your area there is no reason to supose you won't push on. I would hope HKR will follow the same path. Our only problem is competeing on a level playing field with the richer clubs given the level of our support & the fact we both rely on benefactors putting in cash. Your only down side is playing in that cavern of a ground (it would be OK if it was full) but your average crowd would give a lot better match day experiance for your fans in a grond like New craven park.

Nice post , cheers for that
and you dont actually hate us, its called envy really
Seriously though we've come from rock bottom to the top in 10 years through sheer hard work with everyone sneering at us and pulling us down at every opportunity - if that doesn't give teams hope nothing will

| I don't understand all the Huddersfield haters, if anything it shows what good all round investment and having a good strategy both on and off the pitch can do, look at London, they play in a good stadium and have access to plenty of money yet they are hopeless.
It has a population of 150k (by no means a huge place)so the only thing they need to work on is converting a few more to the game, if they carry on as they are, should be a lot easier in the future.

| The fans might be happy if they finish in pole position for the playoffs but I'm sure Baloo won't be settling for that. We'll see what transpires in October but they've given themselves a good chance no matter what. I hope they get to pick their opponents in the GF Eliminator. Is it possible they could beat us again then have the option to pick us again if we win our last chance saloon game? It's worked out OK for us in the past couple of years. Could be interesting.

| Huddersfield are the real deal.
They outclassed wigan tonight.
If they carry this into the playoffs they could seriously win the grand final. They just have to not f*ck it up, keep their cool and play the way they have been doing.
