huddersfield poached your players? face it, every club has players that other clubs want, thats how it works players will always move on to a bigger better club when the chance arises.

You're running out of bitter, all that's coming out of the tap now is froth & bubbles.

I wonder if there actually is anyone left on here who is bothered about the game itself? Should be a decent one. But not that any of that matters.

Are you for real ?.
Over the past few seasons your club has certainly signed a good number of players from Wakefield.
There is no doubt that, thanks to your sugar daddy, you club is financially strong and there is equally no doubt that until 12 months ago we were the exact opposite of this.
You have simply used your financial muscle to take the playerer that you've wanted from Wakey.
We are all aware that players come and go each year, its just that you have a particular liking for guys that wear red, white and blue.
Maybe Mr Davey is just being patriotic, or perhaps it just a bit of good business on your part.
I'm sure that you can count, so just have a tot up and see how many your had from Wakey in the past 2/3 seasons and compare with the influx from elsewhere....
Have yopu spotted the pattern yet ?

Get over yourself Giants fans do not spend time listing the former clubs of players. Most players have 3/4 clubs in a career. Seems some wakey fans are a bit thin skinned on the issue, poor dears.
Why do so many wakey fans wet the bed because a few of their out of contract or transfered players sign for the Giants? Some of the same posters who prattle on about this THEN say they are not bothered about the Giants
To support a club that was saved by a millionnaire yet be disparaging about a 'sugar daddy' shows the hypocracy of many wakey fans. To go on about a few guys coming to huddersfield while cramming their own squad with umpteen overseas players is funny.
Anyhow, on topic, lets hope Giants academy product Luke George has a good game this sunday.

| Maybe, just maybe the players in question actually wanted to better themselves and improve their career prospects by CHOOSING to sign for Huddersfield.
to me 3 things have happened here :
1.Wakefield have quite happily accepted any fees offered by the Giants for any of the players.
2.Huddersfield offered better contracts and prospects to these players.
3.The main one - The players WANTED to leave Wakefield for Huddersfield !!
Maybe you should be turning any frustrations to your club for its failure to keep hold of your promising players by financial or career prospect means !.
5+ years ago we would have never have kept hold of players like Cudjoe, Lawrence, McGilvary,Patrick etc due to bigger clubs being able to offer them better deals and improved prospects than we could, now we can and we are also able to tempt exciting younger players at other clubs to play for us too to boot...thats life !
No one was forced to sign for us at gunpoint, they Chose to sign and if you listen to them are delighted to have done so as they are playing with better players, in a better coaching set up...........thats not being disrespectul to Wakefield's inability to keep hold of talented young players its just how it is ...the better clubs have a better chance of having the better players !!!!!!

| give over its nowt to do with franchise clubs or Sheffield, its to do with players wanting to play for a club thats on the up as they obviously think it will improve their prospects in career development for the future.
Huddersfield have progressed dramatically in the last 3 or 4 years and are now a club that is highly respected and thought of by players as opposed to the poor outfit we were...that is through OUR clubs hard work.......shall we just stop progressing to allow Wakefield to catch up and give them a better chance of being able to keep their younger players at their club ??
Not everything is Anti wakefield or done to annoy wakefield etc, like i said ask your club why these players want to sign for us rather than you !!

Ferguson was "given" to you by the administrators for a paltry sum and although Murphy stayed for another season, this was probably because it meant he was "free" at the end of the season
The uncertainty of the new franchise and lets face it, EVERYBODY thought we were stuffed, meant that all of our better players secured contracts elsewhere (possibly Murphy comes in this category instead) and nobody can blame them for securing their own futures
This meant starting from scratch again, so perhaps the franchise system has affected our club ? and until we get the go-ahead on the new stadium at Newmarket this situation remains.
I agree that your club is making good progress and wish you well with it, but have the decency to at least be honest with the situation as it is.

| Let's be really honest - if we could entice good players from other clubs we wouldn't think twice. Club loyalty for players who have a short career is not a realistic choice.

| Wakey 5 year ago were a small club with a small business mentality. This isn't hear say but from personal experience from the club. With a that'll do attitude.
You could tell Ferguson was going to be a very good player he wouldn't look out of place at Wigan, Warrington or Leeds let alone Hudds. Luke had a bit of an attitude but was fairly grounded and I also think probably has improved under a different coach. Murphy, my lad could do better and he's only 18 months old.
Back on track I don't know how much the old board had to do with the Newmarket ground proposal, but if they had it'll never get off the ground. I can't comment on the new board as I have never had anything to do with them.

As I said, all someone has to do is watch a match from the terraces and you lay claim to having created them as players.
Tommy Lee was widely berated by plenty of Wakey fans as useless. NB, having played the same position as him, has an eye for players and knowledge to improve him. And lo, we've now stolen a player that you gladly released because you didn't want him. And no mention of Kyle Wood, who NB managed to improve out of sight since he was with us and who returned to you a far better player.
The pattern I do see is that there are plenty of Huddersfield born, Huddersfield trained players in our first team and also in the England Elite and Knights squads. You on other hand are so well informed you can't even spell Kan Davy's name correctly.
We are in a decent position thanks to KD and we have a proven record of giving kids a chance. We are no Wigan Leeds or Saints when it comes to our academy. Neither are you. Did you know that Aaron Murphy started at Leeds academy? Did you know Tommy Lee started at Hull FC? Did you know Luke George started at Huddersfield? Grix at Fax?
And you lay claim to them all. You need to go away and learn some facts.

You miss the point. We are not laying claim to these players as such, we are just a little disappointed that your club feels the need to sign so many players from 1 club in such a ahort time frame.
It's almost a take-over by stealth.
P.S. sorry about the spelling, but thats not really important as far as the subject matter is concerned.

Go on then, Dan, how do you spell Ken Davy's name correctly?
Leaving the who came from where stuff aside for a moment, Luke George was one of my favourite players during his time at Wakey. Very raw when he first joined us, but a very skillful and athletic player. Sadly, we didn't see that much of him due to a series of injuries that stalled his development quite a bit, but towards the end of his time with us, he looked like he'd matured a lot. His defence was much stronger, and he was still a fast and elusive runner with the ball in hand. I'm pleased for him that his career is blossoming at Huddersfield. On the wing at Wakefield, he had very few opportunities to show what he could do in recent seasons, but seems to have improved as a player all the same (and I don't think that's just down to a couple of months with Nathan Brown). Hope he has an absolute stinker at the weekend, but picks off where he left off after that.

Indeed, I note the 8 page thread entitled 'poor little wakey' has been locked on the Giants forum!
