There's 9 teams in Sydney, there'll be two in Brisbane, it will be massive.

I don't doubt that it might be massive.....I really don't. What I do have doubts about is the rhetoric spouted by some as if it is a divine god given right that Brisbane will see 2 teams averaging 35k each when the Broncos have only just reached that figure.
The AFL team gets about 25k average.....the wendyballers get 10k....there's a fair few other things fighting for the attention (and dollars) of the Brisbane public.
As I say, I don't doubt that a 2nd Brisbane team would be good for the game, but not at the expense of a NEW franchise.....I would bin one of the 9 Sydney teams to make way...penrith or cronulla are the worst attended teams in Sydney and by all accounts, Penrith are leaking cash at an alarming rate.......
I would like to see WA and a team from South Australia.....in Adelaide. The NRL need to think like the AFL.......Gold Coast will struggle in the AFL this year, they are on a 20k average and I believe they will have many millions thrown at them over the next 5 years...the NRL need the same attitude......like the Storm......stick a team in enemy territory and don't give up......and the TV deals are partly based on "potential reach"...2 new state capitals wouldn't hurt

Graham Murray, Justin Morgan or Nathan Brown would do me. When's Craig Bellamy's contract up?

Morgan? I doubt he'll ever be a first team coach in the NRL.

I don't know, he does lack a bit of technical expertise but he has done a good job at two clubs now starting from basically scratch and lifting them to decent positions. Ideally someone like a Graham Murray or Sheens with Morgan as assistant ready to take over in 2 or 3 years would be the best combo imo.

Who'd have thought Cartwright would be a decent coach a few years ago?

A couple of games we should have won (CC and Canberra) would have been a much fairer reflection on our efforts. Just a shame we have nowhere for these kids to go now, an under 20's side would have been ideal. Some will hopefully get picked up by other NRL Toyota cup teams and others will go into the WARL which will strengthen the local comp. Next year will be pretty much a whole new team.

Surely if WA get a franchise for 2013 they'll run a Toyota cup for 2012?

The best ones will get scouted and some that aren't the best will have the Orr bros and other agents sniffing round.

Now you know what it feels like for juniors from Balmain, Wests, Norths who no longer have indendent U20s teams. A few kids will now come a cropper especially in the forwards as a result.

Bit different, Norths kids only have to travel 20kms in any direction, ours have to move 3000! Balmain and Wests have an NRL team they can feed into.

Yes Sheldon it has been muted that if we get the nod we will look to have a Toyota cup team next year, not sure how they would work the fixtures out though?

Is the Brisbane Ekka a good ground? I don't know if you remember, I did my business project on making an NRL Team there.
