Then again, if you're working for a company, you'd assume that they'd be paying you correctly. I'm 17, and have a weekend job in a supermarket. I check my earnings against the hours that I've worked, but I don't check everybody elses, or ask them about their wage. I just assume that the company would be getting it correct. I presume that the same would go for these players. They would trust that the club was paying the correct amounts, and looking at the salary cap.

When the salary cap first came about I was against it, I have since changed my mind. I think we need to have a re-think on some points with it, but in general it has been ok for the game, internally. The only un-level playing field it has created is between RL and RU, which is why we might need to look at something like central contracts to the top British players, but allocate them to clubs so that no one club has too many. I believe this happened in speedway some years ago, with some success.
