| Quote ="Offside Monkey"This is what I've posted on the thread on the saints board
Fortune favours the brave, and I think this is a positive move for us.
Eastmond, despite what people say about his inexperience, is a much better at 7 than in any other shirt. I've a huge amount of time for SamT and think he's got a lot to give.
I'm also very happy bridge is playing centre, as I think he's got a lot of potential there.
I'm just happy to see England trying to play to their strength rather than worrying about the opposition.
Bridge is a good option at centre, I'd have taken him before Smith befre the Aus game. I think he'll suprise some on here.
With regard to Wilkin, he is light which is a concern, but those who think he's a flat track bully should watch him through the season for saints. He's consistantly top tackler and does an awful lot of intellengent running off the ball (something that british players tend to lack) that will create space for the team. Also, from that selection, it looks like Sinfield will be spending time at DH, so Wilkin will step into the role of supporting the distribution. One thing I don't think people appreciate about Wilkin is that (I get the impression, anyways) he's very good at doing whatever role the coach decides is best for the team.
Peacock in the 2nd row makes me a little uneasy, but cometh the hour, and all that. I'd rather he'd start Burgess or Westwood.'"
Pretty much my thoughts. It's pointless clamouring for players to be included that don't exist...

| Would rather have Lee Smith at fullback.
Apart from that im happy with the squad.
Good to see Bridge in there, vastly under-rated.

No i would just pick the bigger forwards from sl.
Either way wilkin is in the team now so he will have my support on saturday as he will be playing for my team.

Five props in the starting pack plus Sinfield at hooker.
Four more props on the bench.
Then we can watch them all desperately chasing shadows as the likes of Luke, Leuluai, Fien and Marshall run around them.

Burgess and crabtree are mobile enough for the 2nd row, play them there with ellis and westwood, leaving graham, morley, peacock and carvell for the prop role.

so, the answer to my questions is "no-one".
Carvell is the only name you can suggest who isnt in the team for Saturday, and he is a prop.

However I'm made up that he's got a chance in the England team and think he will shock quite a few people with his performance.

I only advocated one change so only one differant name would be logical.

| I quite like the look of the side TBH. ATEOTD he's made changes and is copping flack for it. He'd cop flack if he left it the same. He can't do right for doing wrong.
Let's just see how they go. Fingers crossed they at least do themselves justice.

McGuire was terrible and even if Smith was in the 15-a-side game, he'd still leave gaps.

| With regards to Wilkin, it will be interesting to see how much game time he actually gets. From memory, whenever he has started on the bench for GB / England he's hardly been used in comparison to the other interchanges.
I'm glad he's gone for the two young lads at half back - how's the saying go? "If you're good enough, you're old enough".
We're about to find out if they're good enough. You can almost gurantee that they won't play with any fear about making mistakes. They will try and play the way they know.

Nothing to do with who was rubbish out of position yadda yadda. As a Hull fan I'm glad etc. Should that not have been as an ENGLAND supporter i'm glad because he was poor. How can the team be united with one sided club comments like that filtering down from the terraces? HTH

| Ive seen some crap posted on rlfans before but Standee you have the prize today.
Are you serious pitching ANDY GREGORY and KARL HARRISON as potential England managers whilst at the same time saying that Tony Smith is not good enough?
I say give the gig to Leroy Rivett.

He's useless at club level unless he has superstars, why he ever got the national coaching job is beyond me.
What a stupid thing to say. The best coaches end up at the best sides who quite naturally have 'superstars'. Name me one SL coach who is 'good' who doesn't have any 'superstars'? John Kear might qualify, but he already coached England and didn't do very well at it.

I have been wondering what the plan is behind Wilkin's inclusion. I can only think that the idea is to bring him on for Roby and move Sinfield to hooker. But that leaves the obvious question of why not start with Sinfield at hooker and bring Roby on along with Crabtree and Burgess for added impact.
