Fans do this as 4 games in one day is over kill. If your team plays and loses the penultimate game I doubt there would be many who think "oh well never mind, at least there's another game I'm not that bothered about next"

Last year the Sunday matches only started from 3pm, both days starting matches from 12.30pm this year should be better for fans.

4 games is OK as you can dip in & out. It's backing up on the Sunday that's the killer.

I heard some absolute horror stories from people trying to get back from the RLWC final.

First Transpennine's response was to blame the RLWC for holding an event in Manchester, rather than focus on their own failure to make provisions for an event that was planned more than 12 months prior. Presumably, by their logic, if the event was in another city that they didn't serve, they wouldn't have left people stranded at Picadilly until the early hours of Sunday morning.

I would take the Hull/KR game out the equation this year, Granted alot of Rovers and Hull fans will still attend but the fact it kicks off at 17:00 with Hull City in the FA Cup final also conveniently kicking off at 17:00 will IMO knock alot of potential supporters off the gate. Hull City reaching the FA Cup final could possibly only happen once in a lifetime whilst where treated to three sometimes four derbies a year.

I've got some corporate tickets, anyone been corporate to magic weekend before? What's it like? Dress code?

So a good start to the weekend, but they will need to get 29000 tomorrow to get a better result than previously.

But they won't stay for any one else matches jus watch their own and out on the lash in Blackpool , better at Batley I would say .

Let's not get hung up on important details and facts...

I had a great time there (and I'm a Bulls fan). Everyone seemed to have fun, which is the the most important detail if you asked me!

There were some very hot looking women in the Cas crowd, which surprised me, given its history as a pit town. Some of those women had large bumpers as well, which helped make it a genuinely bumper crowd.

a couple of quick points, sorry if they have been covered already.

this years crowd will be the best for a while won't it as next year there will be only 12 teams in superleague so 2 days of 3 games probably

building work is earmarked for the etihad at the end of next season so will that affect the choice of venue for 2015?

There was an interview with Blake Solly after the saints wire game and he basically said there would probably have to be a venue change with the etihad expansion work taking place when the football season finishes. It's a shame because I think they have found a perfect venue and could've done with the consistency of keeping it there long term. I still think that it's purpose needs to be addressed to fit in to the season better, particularly with the new league structure starting next season.

There are a few decent suggestions rather than an additional league fixture that I think could work better

1. One of the 7 games after the split (so each team plays 3H, 3A and 1 neutral)
2. Challenge cup quarter finals played as 2 double headers
3. Week 1 of playoffs played as 2 double headers
4. Standalone 9s competition

Don't get me wrong I think the MW as a concept is fantastic. I've been to all 3 in Manchester and have loved every minute, I just think the logistics of the concept could be improved to give the event a better purpose.

Bramall Lane wouldn't be a bad choice for next year if Eastlands isn't available. Accessible city, central location, great pubs, good public transport...even fit in a trip to the dogs on the Friday night!

The best attendance ever, the cracking weather must have played a part, but an upward trajectory is a good news story.

Take it to St James' park while the Etihad is upgraded, great location and its design means they can shut off the big upper tiers and fill the lower tier first.

i also think the sports mad Geordies would give it a go and attend.
