No they wouldn't. Cas are a small town with a population of 40 000 with a number of well established SL and Championship teams on their doorstep and will always struggle to match the support of other teams. My point was that for HKR, a club from a city with a population of a over quarter of a million and only one other team in the vicinity, with all the reasons to attend the match which I mentioned before, I don't see a home support of 8500 anything to crow about. You clearly think its an achievement so well done you.

Its only decent cos its what you want to hear

1. The game was rearranged at fairly short notice (e.g. I would not have been able to get out of working personally at that notice).

2. It was moved to a Saturday night, difficult for some people to get to for a number of reasons.

3. It was on Sky, this unfortunately keeps some casual fans away who choose to spend their entry money in pub to watch the game (if you looked at attendance stats for all clubs though I would bet no club is exempt from this type of support loss).

All that considered I thought it was a fairly good crowd. If it had been at Cas your crowd would have been boosted by at least 2000 away fans (compared to 200), that's a huge difference.

In each of the four games we've played at The Jungle in SL I would estimate (from been at each one) that we have taken a minimum of 1500 to each of them, none of them as important as last night's game, so I feel a 2000+ guess is a fair one. Hell we took 2000-2500 there for an NL1 game in 2005.

Assuming Catalans only took max 100 fans (compared to Wire bringing 2000 on Friday night), I guess that means Salford are better supported then Hull too.

Hull FC's attendance was 16,000 - 2,000 = 14,000. I know East Hull education is bad Roofs, but come on!

If you take 13 players (including 4 props) out of ANY team in Super League they would struggle just as much as Cas did when at times this season they were missing 13+ players.

As for out of form teams too, Emmitt was ripping through every team in the league until his injury, a vastly under rated player who will only get better as he gets older, same goes for Huby.

I have a couple of sites in the Ferry Fryston area and if you want to see truly ugly women, take a trip down the Stansfield Road area or Park Dale area, its like al fresco Jeremy Kyle.

Exactly, Morrison has had his fair share of injuries but you didn't hear us moaning about our injuries all year. We had the cheapest squad in the league and finished in the position you expect.

So your star player that basically runs every attacking move in your team has an injury free season, do you not think that’s good fortune? That good luck more than off set the bad luck you had with easily replaced players that was injured!

The reason you dropped down the league wasn’t due to injuries it was due to having an easier schedule in the first half of the season. The same cycle repeats itself every year, a mediocre team will be camped on the edge of the top 4 usually due to an friendly early season schedule. The inevitable drop down the league as the better teams time their run of form just right for the play offs, the mediocre team just can’t keep with the pace. The cream rises to top eventually!

What about the ratio of Home and Away fixtures and who they're against? And the order of games differs too.
