'"
10000???? indeed
The Hull V Wakefield fixture last season was associated with 3 different attendances (10,000... 10,448... and 10,48icon_cool.gif with official Hull FC sources being responsible for declaring 2 of them.
Bill Eve was accused many times on this forum last season of deliberately manipulating and massaging the attendance figures in order to paint the most negative picture. Unfortunately, Smokey and his bandit followers were unable to provide the evidence required for their almost season-long accusations, hence why they eventually disappeared from last season's attendance thread with their tails between their legs.
I do believe that in the example above, Bill Eve made the rational decision last season to go with the highest 10,488 attendance figure which was later officially confirmed by the Hull club itself in a later matchday programme on Page 31 [url=http://www.hullfclive.tv/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/020813-HULL-v-WIDNES-LR.pdfHERE[/url.

| Good to have you back on the case Billy........
meanwhile, back at the Moonie ranch....
Quote ="JonB95"You're one to talk, since you only poked your slimy nose into this thread when attendances were slacking. After one week I had no replies for over a week.. the straw that broke the camels back. RL Fans is only interested if it's negative.'"
Point of order: This is YOUR THREAD. You felt the need to start it, in some inane attempt to make Billy's 2013 OPUS look flawed, but the moment the attendances slid, you were off quicker than a $5 whores knickers, so don't come the high and mighty "negative only" shizzle......like a great many so called fans of the game on here, you only seem to be a fan when it's going well. At least some of us who freely admit to being negative post regardless of our opinions being proven right or wrong.
As for the "slimy nose" comment........if that's the best you can muster then thank Christ Bill's back on the job

Took a few days to answer... and all you can actually say is that it is ' my thread ' congrats buddy, which I started a week after Williams was locked, and on which you were silent until there were a few bad crowds, I note that William has brought back the dodgy low Catalan attendance to bring the average down, he should make you happy if I didn't

your thread. I didn't start it and then stop once the attendances slid........so remarking on when and why I post is a tad irrelevant in the scheme of this topic.
Billy's back with his numbers....you can always counter debate with him, or are you not up to it?

No it's not. You and the other clown only appear when there's something negative to focus on and disappear when your constant stream of negative predictions fail to materialise (William Eve more so and he's gone missing more times in the last 10 years than Danny Brough, especially on the Leeds board when Leeds kept winning the GF ).
So you saying it's irrelevant doesn't make it so.
This thread at the moment is showing nothing and won't do for a good few weeks yet. Leeds crowds were down by 3-4% only 2 weeks ago, they're now up by 3% so creaming your knickers over minor drops, like William Eve did 2 weeks ago when he posted the Leeds figures, just makes you look desperate and will probably come back to bite you on the butt cheeks, just like they did for Billy and just like they did for you with your World Cup predictions.

| Look can we keep the comments on the figures?
Call them good, call them bad, but if you start the name calling on here that is just going to lead to another closed thread.
Please argue the toss over whether it proves something or nothing. But the figures alone are really not an issue. In the big scheme of things the one off dodgy attendance whether that be up or down will not have an impact on the overall season average. For example the 10000 from 2013 for the Hull game. Given it was a round figure it looked suspect. William has a more reasonable figure. (He does far more research than me) I'm fine with that.
I don't need to call him negative he does not need to call me a positive looney.
Play the ball (figures) not the man (poster).
I maybe a raving positive spin doctor but it would only derail a threat to start name calling.
It's a long season, so this thread has the most chance of being derailed. Most threads die after a week due to lack of interest.
I'm fine with William posting the figures I've no reason to think he would change them to suit and agenda.

Only until the completion of the next round of fixtures. I'll post the Round 12 attendances next week but after that it's the off-season as far as I'm concerned. I shall return around late-August after I've had my fill of bona fide summer sports like cricket and tennis.

| Regarding the top two clubs Leeds & Wigan, although the crowds are holding up well that’s all they seem to be doing.
Over the last few years their success has been extremely good, what with GF’s & CC’s but my concern is could this be as good as it gets?
Many clubs would love to achieve those attendances year on year & I’m sure the Whipping Boy Rabble can only dream of such figures, however, is there any hope that a club could average 20K in a season, or are we as a game, up to our limits?

Short of Leeds and Wigan flogging adult season tickets for around £50 in order to boost their attendances, I doubt it. And we all know the reaction of the modern day fans of heavily discounted SL when those season ticket offers are withdrawn. They disappear faster than Sally Bolton's £5 RLWC tickets!
Leeds attendances peaked in 2004 when they averaged over 17K that season. Apart from a couple of small increases in comparison to the previous year, the overall trajectory since then has been one of slow decline and an overall average loss of over 2K per home game in the decade following.
Good job they won another 5 SL titles, 3 WCC's and appeared in 4 CC finals since then otherwise their steady attendance decline during the same period would have been far more serious.

Bit of a flawed comparison isn't it when we played some teams twice at home back then. Including Bradford when they were good and got over 20,000 for both games. Along with a freakish 17,000+ on the last game vs London due to picking up the LLS I imagine.

You forgot to add "only"
Nothing to get over but I doubt anyone will forget your daily ranting, raving and general slagging off of the tournament site wide on here in the months leading up to it. You soon STFU when the first sell out was announced though and the back tracking after then was hilarious. Hardly the off the cuff "guestimate" you now try and claim it was.
Not seen too many "guestimates" from you regarding RL attendances since then for some reason but you do seem to take an extraordinary amount of pleasure when lower than expected crowds are announced.

Flawed comparison it may be but it's not possible provide a more like-for-like comparison so we'll just have to make do. I accept entirely the logic of higher attendances when the top SL clubs were playing the top SL clubs more often prior to commencement of the 14 team franchising nonsense in 2009. That's why Hetherington in particular was beating the 3x8 drum so enthusiastically. He wants more home games against top SL opposition instead of whipping boy SL rabble because it means higher home attendances and more matchday revenue.

'"
Look harder then. I've said this years SL crowds will be up on last year and 2015 will be higher again.
As for RLWC.......get over it. £5 tickets aside, it was a great effort by the organiser who has now left for pastures new whilst knock down Nigel took all the credit for the attendances at RLWC......and while we're at it, are you looking forward to seeing England RL in the flesh soon? Only asking because I will see team before you and I'm 12k miles away......LEGACY

| I'll bow to the Leeds fans on this, but is headingley's capacity not around 21k??
In which case, how could they ever have it as a season average?
That would require over 90% each and every week

A few hundred £5 tickets in Dublin and a midweek game in Leigh with the USA or some other non entity playing... Other sports do the same thing the world over. Nice try though and not desperate at all.
Hope you enjoy the games. They can't all be in the UK smashing attendance records left right and centre and after last year's festival over here it's the Anzacs turn to promote the international game. Kind of makes sense really, doesn't it?
Legacy? As you've said, 2 years of crowd increases (outperforming both Football and RU), record TV deal, new sponsors, Magic Weekend looking to break records by a long way, more RL on tv, both digital & terrestrial, than ever before. Pretty good i'd say and if the WC had been a disaster things would have been very different.

Or you could not use such a flawed example at all seen as it doesn't show us anything solid to base results on.
But I suppose you've gotta keep impressing Gutterfax otherwise his crush might wear off
