You see that hundred times a game, ridiculous penalty, Thaler is a disgrace. Late tackle on Kelly when he got his kick away (not the later one) and Thaler turned a blind eye, utterly gormless and unprofessional with his inconsistency.

Great effort and team spirit from Hull, but architects of their own downfall . Washbrook sinbinning was soft to say the least. Was almost inevitable that the game ended on a woeful forward pass when’s Hull were on a roll.

Early in the game the overrated connor shoved Barbas face into the grass and laughed. Fast forward 60 minutes and the overrated Connor missed a conversion my 5 old daughter could make and then gave away a high tackle on super leagues star player. No wonder Barba just laughed at him. That’s karma. England standard? Give over. He’s not even knights standard

a high tackle that was lower than the one on Miloudi 2 minutes later that Thaler ignored. Connor has some not so good traits but he's got more about him than most in SL.

For me the decider was actually none of the penalties or sinbinnings. It was when Percival and Houghton clashed heads and Houghton was knocked out cold. Really unlucky, and one of those things, but without him on the park, Hull were struggling to do anything with the ball. Given how poor Saints' defence was today, Houghton's craft at dummy half would have been the difference IMO.


I hated every one of those last 20 minutes. They went on forever. I thought after Taia blew that try (the walk-in on the right was there, and that alone should have disqualified him from MotM), that it was only going one way. Especially when it became clear that our forwards were all completely goosed!

They weren't. They kicked off, and I think even tried claiming some type of compo from Hull.
Cronulla were happy to see Barba go so does that make him poor? (who was by far the worst player on the pitch today)

Nothing to do with Connor, he's filling in at half back.
Apart from percival and Thompson, saints players were struggling to cope with Hulls ruck speed.

A cleaner game from Hull and they could have taken that game.

Best match of the 4 by some margin. Hull brought Saints down to their speed and nearly found a way to win.Proper cup tie and Radford almost in tears was good again in his interview saying discipline and poor kicking was the difference and it was. Tough team to beat . Thought Thaler was iron willed in the middle

Hardly a fair statement to make when you consider he was playing with an injury and not in his best position.

Could have should have would have. But they didn’t . It’s all semantics. End of the day saints are in the semis and hull aren’t. I used to like hull but their tactics of kneeing a prone man in the head (a move that is even outlawed in MMA) and trying to injure our England sponsored number 1 didn’t really pay off did it.

I like Thaler because he isnt afraid to do the unpopular decisions and commands respect. I dont like him because he is far inconsistent with his decisions.

Saints look good on the back of a dominant pack against weak teams allowing Barba etc to run riot. They will be pushed with the intensity of the GF semis.

Thanks for confirming that Wigan, Warrington and Castleford are all weak teams
