Step 3 - Abandon RL club as actually what you wanted all along was a football club.


Perhaps I'm biased in this thinking but we had a lot of interest at Wakey from Steve Parkin but there were plenty of rumours around that actually what he wanted all along was a chance to own/run a football club with a chance of getting into the Football League

I think the the Hull KR fan above was referring the Salford/Oldham merger which was mentioned before the start of Super League to form a Manchester club (over my dead body), but I can see why people would make the link.

I'm pretty sure every Chairman of a RL Club has other irons in the fire. Lenegan is a good example. Interests in London Broncos, Wigan, and Oxford UTD. As soon as Koukash announces something it must mean the death knell of everything Salford. I'm not sure whether to feel saddened by most people's limited understanding, or others strange obsession with him.

I don't necessarily agree with everything he says/wants, but having him in the game has to be a good thing surely?

For comical value alone, he is worth having in the game. It's been a laugh a minute since he's been around. If he wants to be taken seriously then all these words he's spouting needs to be turned into actions. I for one would love to see a successful Salford side.

I think nearly every football club in the north west other than the big clubs all think it could be them but its most likely Oldham but I would love Marwan to buy Tranmere and give us some much needed publicity

Ian L has no "interests" in the London Broncos......he wanted to, but the gibbons running the game wouldn't let him. As for Oxford...he owns a lot more than the local soccer club down there.

As for Koukash? good luck to the guy, but he needs to understand that it will take more than a couple of star players to turn Salford and his once great soccer club around overnight. Cronk, Slater and Smith at the Reds next year and he'd still struggle to get 7k averages...
