| Quote ="Gijou"I read that article this morning.
Sydney has taken on a different resonance since the 75,000 at the PF last year. You can see that the previous glass ceiling has been well and truly shattered.
I see us having a 50,000+ attendance at a club game in Sydney within 2-3 years at the outside.
All it really needs at the moment is a game at ANZ between maybe St George and Souths towards the back end of the season when things are hotting up (and with both teams with something to play for).'"
yeah that eels / dogs PF was massive.
dogs / saints
dogs / eels
eels / saints
souths / saints
would all take the nrl to another level

| best tickets for origin 1 - $135 down to $50 for the worst category
thieves.
$50 for a seat behind the posts at homebush is daylight robbery
if they reduced ticket prices to a resonable level theyd sell out

| It's actually a $21 saving, the point stands, everybody with any marketing sense who knows that a game isn't going to sell out trys and fills the ground with discounts or freebies. Nothing wrong with it and we do it in the NRL every weekend.

| FFS, this isn;t a go at any poster here, but @#$%, sell your expensive tiks, good luck luck.
But please don;t out price the people who really care.
I don't have a lawn mover, I don't have a car, I cut mt grass today with a @#$%^%$ whipper Snipper and it was 4 feet long, I still have the back to do.
I;m not rich and anywhere from $30-150 is out of my league.
I haven't got a jumper for 6 years because its nearly $200, I buy shirts and caps and stuff, But I can't afford it on a pension.
Don't take my game away more than you have.

And to add, I'm in a wheelchair and my grass got so long people refused to cut it.
I had to go out there and use a machine that is not ment for it just to look decent.
I got charged 760 dollars last month for aqn electricity bill when this time last year it was 300.
I have no Pay TV because I can't afford it, I'd love to go to a game, but living is worth more.

| Paying gate price to go to a game is ridculously expensive and is one motivator to become a member. I just paid $45 a ticket for the Perth game to sit on the 20m line. Taking along some mates so it has cost me a small fortune!
Having said that as a sweetner I agreed to get tickets to the ballet for the wife and they were $130 each so in comparison I can't complain!!

| theyll have 20,000 empty seats for each sydney game.
drop the price and sell it out
in the old days when it was at the SFS the top ticket was $50 and the cheapest $25. taking out members they only had 25,000 seats available
moving to homebush with 70,000 seats available youd think theyd keep the prices the same?
nah, they doubled them.
if it sold out all the time people would be more keen to go with a good atmosphere.
and the view from most seats is s**t.
paying $100 bucks for a lousy view in the cold of winter when you can watch it on nine with all their expert analysis?
we dont make it easy to turn up to the game do we?

| I'd be disappointed if they don't get close to 70K for each game, weather permitting. It is supposed to be the eipcentre of RL isn't it? How quick did Suncorp sell out?

suncorp tickets are usually $20 cheaper than sydney
and suncorp is a much better ground than homebush.
game 1 will get 68,000 - 72,000 and if game three is a decider 75,000 +

the point is we dont use marketing gimmicks to get a big crowd to claim the sport is popular ie union.
RL gets genuine big crowds without gimmicks
taking out freebies union just doesnt in france or england

| I asked for trolls and you responded. And responded. And responded. And responded. etc.
What does that tell you...?
My main point was the one above that which you ignored. About the 50,000+.
Two posts. Which one was a bait?
If you were a fish you would be gutted, wrapped in foil and sitting on my bbq by now.

Free entry for certain limited persons or even free entry to everyone on a certain specific occasion of note (El Masri) is fine.
I wouldn't want to make it a regular practice anywhere though.
Our game has survived on the gate for much of its existence (since 1895). If that was all we had, we would still be fine. Fortunately, we have a lot more.

| Every damn thing is over priced these days, it's criminal.
The Titans are the worst though, if they keep the prices up, no one will go and the AFL will give away thousands of tixs and when they do start charging, they'll be cheap as chips.
Anyone noticed how the crowds have dropped up there?
SOO has turned into a quick money grab.

| its not the top tickets that dont sell out, they always sell out the $130 tickets
its the cheaper ones that have a terrible view.
the ARL just have to be realisitic about what these seats are worth
