I’ve seen him play 4 games in 2017, enough to form an opinion, he will go well in Super League and at 23 has his best years ahead oh him.

Hampshire to Wakefield - 1 year deal.

Bit underwhelmed by this if I'm honest. Not by the player but by the length of the deal. Looks a bit non commital to me. No idea which party just expected two years and a real chance for him to find his feet.

It's still good but just seems a bit at odds with recent policy.

what happened last time then when you got promoted??

past 8 seasons the giants have been in the top 4 five times. compared to wakefield and alot of other sl clubs yes a force

2009 - 3rd
2011- 4th
2013 - 1st
2014 - 3rd
2015 - 4th

2018 with luck with injuries will be competing for the top 4 again...last two seasons we have been decimated by injuries.

It didn't work out,lessons have been learnt.Next season will be better,So Ya better watch out laddie.

Michael McIlorum's signing, coming on the heels of the sensational signing of David Mead, gives the Catalans a good chance of making the top 4.

McIiorum is potentially a good signing if he settles.

Your faith in Mead is quite laughable. For a club that is continually being taken for a ride by past it Aussies after a pension you never seem to learn.

The first three games he'll go well then the sick notes will start - you heard it here first John.

I think MMc is extremely limited as a player. He tends to shine when a team is on top & his ferocious style of play can mask his lack of creativity but motivate team mates. His stats all round are mediocre to crap. Another average season for Catalans.

You are obviously unfamiliar with David Mead. He has never in the past during his decade in the NRL behaved the way you are predicting he will at Catalans.

David Mead will become an inspiration to young English fullbacks and will compete with Wigan's Morgan Escare and St Helens' Benjamin Barba for a place in the Super League Dream Team for 2018.

So I ask you for the umpteenth time - if he's still so good why is he coming to SL let alone one of its struggling teams?

There is no logic at the moment for any player still capable of getting a first team NRL slot doing such a thing.

The NRL is player rich but not so player rich they would let a player like Mead go unless there was a problem - sorry John but that how it worked.

He may still be a decent player but he won't be the player you seem to be expecting. Another Kevin Locke imho.

Finally this pace you're on about - I guarantee you he wouldn't get anywhere near Tom Johnstone or Mason Caton Brown in a foot race plus a few others dotted around SL.
