More than double the 3000 quoted by someone who thought Gateshead were in the SL in 1996. |

As for the Willows... Why is it abysmal? There's a nice mix of terracing and seats. The seats are under cover, as is quite a bit of the terracing. There's bars, plenty of food and only one open air toilet left in the ground. Just because a ground isn't shiny and all-seater doesn't mean it's abysmal.
As for York getting a higher crowd... Who knows? Is it a regular thing for them getting such high crowds or a one off? I'm not bothered enough to look it up. They could well have done a hell of a lot of marketing on the game, used free tickets or other such schemes. We did the same against Swinton the other year. We got over 6,000 on. The club should do it more often, but there's too much moaning from season ticket holders. Why that's so is beyond me, personally, but nevermind.
As for being naive at believing the "claptrap" coming out of Salford... We've had constant setbacks in the entire stadium saga. Is any of that the club's fault? No. There's been allsorts of obstacles thrown at us from allsorts of angles. All unforseen. Sh*t happens, the fact that we're still pushing to get the damn thing built says it all to me. Until someone tells me it's definitely not happening (and I mean someone actually in the know, not some muppet on a message board) then I'm happy to believe it's going to happen eventually. It has to happen for Peel Holdings to be allowed to build other major developments in Salford. It has to happen for Salford to survives as a club. Neither party are just going to sit back and let it die.

i think my iq has just dropped several points by reading this e. I couldn't give a rats what someone from another club thinks of my club. I'll still go whether we play at the willows, city of salford stadium or the local park. I believe that the stadium will happen, it has to happen, whether it's within the next 2 years or the next 10. Super league or NL1, I'm a Salford fan not a stadium fan!!!

So, Starbug, if the RFL relegate 3 and promote 3 we'd be looking at TO and 2 UK based Championship clubs. "Short"list would be Widnes, Barow, Fax, Leigh, Sheffield and Gateshead. I would have thought that the short shortlist would be the first three names on that list, probably in that order. You fancy your chances or are you hoping to stick to the Championship? If TO gets promoted I guess you wouldn't want FCL or Pia taking their place?
Oh, and for the rest of you: Salford crap ... blah blah ... Cas is a dump .. yadah yadda ... Wakey no academy ... blather blather ... crowds. |

Dont really give a stuff anymore
We are struggling to generate interest getting people to watch at our level without P and R which is showing in our attendances at the LSV
This year we started off trying to answer the RFL's criticism using a lot of our juniors and have ended up putting ourselves into a relegation fight when other clubs have not bothered with that and just recruited experience
So the future , who knows |

Wakey have said they will be publishing good news in the Wakefield Express Today. What's the betting the press release doesn't have a definite start date for building!
Castledfords response was slightly more detailed than Salfords and there is a meeting with their MP today and that they will make further announcements in the near future |

the first 3 arent at risk of expulsion next time round, and their ground proposals werent crucial to their acceptance into SL.
take out the mickey mouse ground proposals last time round then salford and wakey wouldnt be in SL today, though cas wouldve scraped in. |

Squatting actually. Lodgers pay rent, we don't. We went round late on a Sunday, found an open window and immediately moved in. We were there 2 years before anyone noticed when we suddenly got a crowd over 1,000 
Mr Evans has tried everything to evict us, but we have managed to scupper him by getting the European Rugby Union lot to fine him £215,000 for cheating. This has used up all his legal war chest, so we are here to stay!
