If Huddersfield and Leeds play the way they have been recently, they should dismantle Catalans putting plenty of points on them. If Widnes play the way they have been at home, they should win too. I also think that they Catalan will drop out, however it all depends on the Hull Derby and their game vs Huddersfield. They could be out of the top eight if they lose their next two games, Hull FC, Hull KR win their first games next week and the Derby goes either way with a small difference in score. Ideal case scenario for the Derby would be a draw, then both would be in top eight. Providing the hull teams win next week.

I reckon KR's PD means they need to win the Derby and beat Salford, which is what I think will happen, although Hull v Rovers is always something of a coin flip. Hull can probably scrape home just by beating Cas, as long as they keep the other two (KR away, Wigan home) tight.

If only a finishing position was based on a single performance in May eh.

Salford had no bloody coach or man of steel 2011, yet still did what every side in SL bar wakey have done this season and gave Catalan a good beating at home.

I said at the start of the season that, Todd Carney or no Todd Carney, I saw no reason why they should finish higher than Hudds or Cas.

I'm not usually much of a prediction expert, but I don't think you needed much of a crystal ball for that.

At home they are a match for anyone tbf. The question was could they improve their away form to an acceptable level? The answer is an emphatic no.

They have only beaten Wakefield on their travels, and they played that game when Wakefield were possibly at their worst. If that game was taking place this weekend I would fancy them to lose that one too.

Had Todd Carney, Morgan Escare, Eloi Pelissier and John Zebolon Ta'ia all been fit for almost every game, then the standing of Catalans on the table would have been much better.

Had Cas had Carney Solomona and dorn fit for every game we would be higher up. Had Salford not have had half their team suspended they'd be higher, had kr not lost most their pack they'd be higher....see what I'm saying? Plus there's only Todd Carney from that list who's been long term. Face it, catalan due to their dour away form are average at best....
